    I think the part that has gotten me is there has never been a water filter before hitting the softener. I have to do lots of plumbing to add one, like up-sizeing the water line coming out of the pressure tank, so I was waiting till the softener quit and just do all the plumbing at once. I can back feed the house via the cistern so we will still have water during all the plumbing I gotta do, so I'm fortunate there.
