Lots of turbo prep for me this weekend. Started out swapping in my upper oil pan that has the turbo drain port welded in. Then moved onto building a bracket & mounting my Moroso catch can. Waiting on parts for that to plumb it up but it’s ready. It has a valve on it so I ran a hose to the passenger fender well so it’s easy to drain. After that I moved onto heat shielding prep for the ac lines, valve cover, and wire loom. Also cleaned up some of the vacuum lines and shielded those too. Used some reflective tape on the valve cover and ac lines. Then went back and covered the ac lines and wire loom in PTP lava heat sleeve as well. Next weekend will be back to finishing the down-pipe and mid-pipe and then I’ll try to rework the intake piping and plumb everything up.

Had the tray installed recently, swapped out the mudflaps for these cool Washington ones I found on ETSY, and did a full suspension swap from OME HD front and rears to the BP-51 set up with a Deaver stage II pack out back. So far so good!

WHY NO STAGE 3?!? You have so much room to haul stuff on that tray!

Truck is back from the garage after the straightforward wheel job turned into an emergency front suspension one. What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

They installed some Monroe 171371 strut and coil spring assemblies, and now I feel like it sits lower in the front, even though the bigger tires are now on. Maybe it's just my eyes, or maybe the suspension they installed is for the base Tacoma model, and not the higher OR version? I asked the mechanic and he said they seemed to be the same when he compared them... whatever, I didn't have much of a choice if I wanted my truck back asap, so it'll do for now, until I put in some Bilstein 5100's in the Fall.

Eventually I’ll add airbags if I need to. No need at the moment.

Quarantined for a week with COVID so I installed my headlights and ditch lights. Those little Diode Dynamics SSC1’s are great. Perfect supplement to the stock headlights. The OEM TRD Pro headlights also look miles better than my old faded stockers.

@SSX999 nope, mechanic lied. Those monroes are not the same compressed length struts. but, you got your truck back, and instead of 5100's I would look for a set of take offs from a 3rd gen. just 5100s and no new springs will make your turck ride like a chuck wagon...

The timing chain cover has had a small leak for the last 7 years and the ac compressor started making some noise so,,
Removed the grill, fan, radiator, and compressor.

:crapstorm:Just topped my highest city mpg of 18.7, just ran 19.6 city mpg and with relative spirit too! 265/70/17 Coopers with the TRD Matte black Pro/SEMA wheels.
Both of these averages were measured after the use of a full tank of gas not some BS momentary reading I pulled off a scan gauge while driving slow AF.
Cheers:thumbsup:

I used to have a Nissan flat bed with wood sidings. My Samoyed loved to ride in back with the wind blowing. Dumb dog got so excited he climbed up onto the roof of the cab when we were going down the freeway!

It is. Not DOT approved, and I don't have a cover, so it's illegal to drive around with it in BC. Also, there's a short in the wiring, so it doesn't even work right now anyways.
