if you stick around TW you will certainly find a stock OR suspension for sale cheap or sometimes free. happens all the time around here.

Get used OR pull off shocks. Best bet.

Everyone saying you have to go aftermarket are high unless they’re talking about a full long travel setup or high end stuff.

On road or off road oriented suspension will all be stiffer in the low to mid budget range, Billies, OME, etc.

I went aftermarket and found a really good improvement in suspension ride quality. I found that the biggest problem with the Sport suspension wasn't the initial hit of a bump, it was how the shocks handled the rebound. It was more like solid steel bars in there and it transmitted every bump right into the chassis rather than absorbing it in the suspension.

If you want better ride quality and aren't looking to lift, I recommend Bilstein 4600's.

If you are looking to lift then Bilstein 5100's or Eibach Pro-Truck's.

I am running the Eibach Pro-Truck Stage 2 Coil over kit. I find the ride greatly improved.

2019 TRD OR LB, personally never drove the short bed. On the farm I found my 2019 TRD a bit soft, mushy riding on the bumps. Added 6112 & 5160 +Icon AAL, the ride become firmer, and felt solid. 5/6 on the shocks, I was told 5/4 is a better ride. 275/70/17 BFGs.

Guess I'm in the minority here. I bought the Sport for the way it rode, nothing better than rocking down the blacktop in this thing.

Every time I get in the truck it says "game on, let's roll" -- sure it is a bit harsh, I term it engaging, you know you are doing something.

Hours into a road trip I'm still on my game, interested and enjoying myself. That was the whole point of buying the truck.

Disclaimer: We take road trips -- just not off road trips.

FWIW, I have a 2nd gen, but 5100's set to the first height setting (+.75/.8") definitely reduced nose dive over the stock (softish) SR set up

Spacer kits , great for mall crawling, but not for the more serious off roading. Spacers are great if you want just a height increase.

The spacers were put in just so I could fit larger tires for the cool look the truck is driven on the Street 100% of the time the four-wheel drive is just so I can put my boat in and out

The stock suspension is pretty much the difference between the chick magnet Sport and the trail adventure OR. Many people upgrade so you can get their cast offs. As many have mentioned the after market will give you everything from a low rider to a dump truck. Consider a digressive shock as it vastly improves handling and bumps.

I also felt that the ride was a bit harsh in my Sport. I just figured it was our crappy roads and I was driving a truck. I recently replaced the OEM tires (Destination LE) with a set of TOYO A/T III and feel like the ride is better. Seems to handle our rough paved roads much better. Softer ride for sure.

On my 19 Sport I kept the stock sway bar and bought stock O.R. shocks for a softer ride and do not notice much if any difference in handling.

Before I bought my Sport, I read that it was designed for street driving.

This is my first truck that I've owned but have driven other trucks (mostly when I was in the military).

I enjoy the ride of my Sport...doesn't feel harsh BUT I've never driven an OR so I can't compare/make an honest assessment.

All I know is, I enjoy driving my Sport!

I think the ride in my all stock DCLB sport is great. It's not as smooth as a car, but I wouldn't expect that.

How does the SR5 ride compare to the Sport and Off Road?
