Morning champions, hope everyone had a good memorial day weekend. Mine wasn't bad besides being pinched in right on my achilles from a big ass blue crab. Almost stepped on it out of spite but it looked too tasty to waste lol

Good morning folks! I was able to watch the meteor shower last night, pretty impressive amount of space rocks burning up in the atmosphere. It must have been one hell of a big collision/explosion a billion years ago deep off in some corner of our galaxy.

Thanks! :) Are both of them places i wouldn't want to move into? I've missed out on three houses last week, though none in either of the Joppas. One sold for a whopping $80k over asking. I'm not wanting to participate in the insanity - I think today I'll finish my packet about moving on-base. $2k/month and $0 utilities.

That's cool stuff. One night in Germany back in the 1900s as I lay atop a Bradley, while i was wearing NVGs, I saw a meteor shower - under the NVGs it was incredible - to the naked eye I could barely see them.

Most places in Joppa are probably ok, I’d avoid Joppatowne, it’s a little crowded. The drive from Joppa to APG is probably a pain and I can’t remember if the Edgewood side is open or the connection roads on post from Edgewood to the Aberdeen side.
80k over asking is pretty crazy. You’re probably better off if you can get on post for a bit and then take more time to search. Though, I have no idea what the housing os like there…

    thanks!
Since housing was privatized it's been better - I don't want to waste $24k for a year of renting - but also don't want to waste $30k over-paying for a house that in 5 years may be worth less, depending on the market.

Right, around here it seems like new buyers will all be upside down on mortgages as soon as they move in. Up the street was 50k more than asking, it’s ridiculous. You’ll probably be better getting used to things there first, then see where you like.
Plenty of fishing around too, if you’re interested in that too.

Joppatown is located in a weird area too. There's one main road in/out, east of US40. My nephew did very well recently selling their townhouse. I never felt unsafe there. Parking is a nightmare and reminded of city parking woes (when we lived there). Like you said, it's an older area, and it shows in the original homes. I was glad when my nephew moved his family out, even though it was only into a temporary place. I knew it would be temporary.

I'm sorry to say, and hope no one is offended but Edgewood should not be considered.

It's the same in any major city or town in America where poverty is prevalent. Sure, not the exact same, but I bet relatively speaking, there's little difference. Crime is crime. I used to live in VB back in the 80's. It was very nice but definitely more crime than say Suffolk. I'm sure Richmond has fair share. But I agree 100%, DC, Balto, Philly, NYC, etc, all these major metropolitan areas are just going to have higher numbers. It's a damn shame too because there's also so many great people who live in them.

We were born and raised in the city. We couldn't wait to get out. Just too congested for us. :frusty:

We have a shared driveway and lately we've been experiencing a lot of additional traffic. We both said, "time to move someplace more secluded!" :annoyed:

I think I could live on an island by myself.
