    Just 3 tons of fun!!!
I was up the hill on Sunday when was snowing. I'd have a real hard time believing that system dropped 9 inches of snow.

    Stranger things have happened though.

But snow melts fast this time of year... and I just saw on SNF list that Clark Fork Trailhead and Kennedy Meadow trailhead is open. Both of those are higher up the hill than 5N01. (Elevation wise, I believe NRT is higher though)

When I was up above Long Barn off 3N01 a couple weekends ago it had just snowed about 5" on a Thursday night into Fri morning. We arrived at around noon on Saturday and most of the snow was still there. By Monday when we left after two sunny days nearly all of the snow that wasn't fully shaded was gone. most likely with warm weather it will all be gone in a week or two. If they open it up before Memorial weekend that would be awesome. Keep us posted on what you find out from 4x4 in motion.

Spotted in the parking lot at work. I think the maintenance manager has been hiding this from me. He was talking about getting a Taco, I think he’s ok where he’s at. Although it is super clean, maybe he doesn’t want to f it all up.

Anyone willing to share some beta on dispersed and remote sites near Nevada City or Bowman? Usually I'd be up at my favorite lake off FS road 077 (closed for restoration and rehabilitation) or 5N01 into Relief (closed due to downed trees and soggy ground). GF just moved to Nevada City so hoping to do some camping in that area, but I usually try to avoid the Sac and Tahoe crowds so I'm not familiar with trails or snow conditions up there. PM if anyone is willing to share conditions or good lake/creek spots!

Ya, I'm hesitant to go after reading all the posts on Misfit 4x4 and the NorCal 4x4 Recovery pages, lol. Looks like there are lots of smaller lakes and spurs in the area...

I like the solitude I can usually find in the Stanislaus NF

I went to bowman a few weeks ago and found Lindsey Lake, small PG&E campground, a bit off the beaten path. When I was there it wasn't technically open yet, but there is no gate so you can camp before the official season opens for free. I too am anxiously awaiting the opening of 5N01. I won't be surprised if they extend the closure for the portion beyond Eagle Creek like they did last year.

Just a heads up to anybody planning to go up the hill this weekend

@El Taco Diablo had been talking about the trail cleanup so if you go just make sure you have enough fuel

Niagara Rim, Saturday the 4th, trail blazing run on NRT for 2022. The trail will be opened AFTER we run it and clear it.

Those interested MUST have capible rigs and able bodies. The trail will probably be A LOT harder than it is in the summer. It is still very soaked with some snow. This trip will be work.

Come up on Sunday! We'll probably be done with NRT proper on Saturday. But I'm going to keep clearing trail on Sunday.

I'll bring a chainsaw and some hand tools, might try and find a set of hands too. I don't have a hardcore wheeler anymore but it'll run Snake Lake loop and Slick Rock with a good second set of eyes.

If you come up Sunday. Gate should be open by then. I'll be camped in Niagara Creek Camp (you drive right to it on 5N01). We'll probably roll out of camp around 9-10. Supposed to be a bit cool up there. I'll want to chill around camp and let the RTT air out before I fold it up and get going (condensation).
