Tampa's going to 3-peat, aren't they? Avs and Oilers are out there playing pick-up hockey and that just isn't going to get it done against a structured East team with a top goalie (either one). Both West teams have mediocre goaltending at best, very little structure. They just have megastars on offense and try to outscore people.

As far as tonight's game. I do like how NYR plays and I think they have a shot at the series. But like I mentioned earlier, they just played 2 teams who were missing their starting goalie and it went to 7 games (both times). I just can't see them beating Tampa with Vasilevskiy.

Couldn’t agree more whoever comes out of the east which more than likely will be Tampa I feel is going to win it all. West coast teams play what I call a fancy game. Impressive looking offense highly skilled but too much of a finesse game. Regular season and playoffs are a different animal. Everyone loves to see a flashy game but being sound and having good goaltending can take you far. Even though sometimes I’d rather watch paint dry than watch my rangers offense. I think rangers have a chance anything can happen but my money would be on Tampa if I was a betting man. I’m still waiting for redemption since the kings outmatched us in the cup a few years back. Damn game 1 dan girardi had a terrible turnover in OT which lost us the game and to me set the tone for the rest of the series.

Can’t say I didn’t see that coming. My gosh the bolts suck after sitting for awhile.

The ref's explanation is perfectly acceptable for that call. The angle in that video is only the same angle that makes it look like it's on his stick, when it is not. If Makar doesn't "touch" the puck until his teammate tags up then it's onside. That part is clear and there are angles that show that. We can argue "possession" across the blue line and that is a debate that I think maybe the NHL/officials need to explain better. Because at that point, payers can take advantage of entering the zone in a situation like that, not touching the puck until the zone is clear etc. And as far as a conspiracy against Canadian teams, that exact play was ruled in Montreal's favor not too long ago. I was not aware but was brought up on twitter with video evidence, in relation to this call. So it's a weird call, I personally thought it was offsides, but after hearing the explanation and seeing the other views, I think it was correct, by rule.

It's not like any 'debate' will change a play, from a done and finished game. Blown call, in my mind, but meh.. Moved on, within minutes..
