Oh man. What an epic weekend! The north side of the road from thunder mountain had awesome riding. Kinda quiet because everyone rides thunder instead.

Yeah... The v1's have issues. The v2's are much better

    Huh. V1? Or V2?

Unpopular opinion, but I've had ZERO issues with my 18 month old Reverb... FWIW

Cassidy is on the north side, which I rode with my daughter. I actually only ran in to two people on thunder mountain though!

I fell on my commute home yesterday like a squid. wasn't even doing anything risky or dangerous. literally riding my bike home on the greenway and idk i guess my feet slipped off the pedals and i slid forward out of the saddle? it was either fall to the ground on the left or go down the hill/cliff to the river on the right. luckily it was to the left. but banged me up pretty good. bike is gonna need a lot of love now. glad i still have my hard tail so i can ride that around for a bit

When I overextended my Achilles tendon, it didn’t require any surgery and it did heal, but it took several years before it felt like it was 100% again.

It is not of course: it’s just that the rest of me has degraded a few percent in the intervening years and it doesn’t feel comparatively weak.

I’m 67 years old and so things have slipped a lot since my salad days.

New style reverbs are rock solid. I've had the same experience

I bought a little 1/4 inch digital torque wrench and it's been amazing. It's good for 2.5-25NM.
I also have one of these that I'll carry in a fanny pack, and I love it too, worth getting if you find on sale Silca.

I'm a lot more cautious since going Reverb to not pick up by seat if it's down.
Reverbs are amazing, and I read people talking about them being slow rising, any faster and I'd be in pain.

    Yeah.
I got a nice little 1/4" Tekton. Thinking about replacing my 3/8" and 1/2" wrenches with nicer Tektons.

One thing to look for is one that reads both directions. Some pivot bolts have left-handed threads, and not all torque wrenches work both ways. Don't ask me how I know :anonymous:.

the 1x levers have a speed adjustment.

you gotta turn it to all the way slow when bleeding it (bleeding only at the lever takes like 3 minutes). last time i did it, i left it on slow for awhile. idk guess fluid leaked or something but after a few months it got slower. instead of bleeding, i just turned the screw to make it a bit faster. was a huge time saver and i can still make it faster.

I was mistaken it is a V1. The white plastic bushing is what they were talking about tweaking. I guess the head mechanic has done this in the past and it’s fixed the issue. Sorry for the poor choice of wording. I was so frustrated after my ride yesterday I was about to pull it off and throw it in the trash in the parking lot at the trailhead. That dropper has had about 8 rides on it and every time I’ve had issues. About over it.

I know Bontrager isn’t what the cool kids ride, but I’ve never had an issue with those on the last two Trek’s I’ve owned. Way more seat time than this one and not one hiccup. They may be slow, but at least they work when you need them.

Stay away from Specialized command posts then! They'll send your nads to low earth orbit if you aren't careful.

One reason why I dont need a vasectomy.

Speaking of Specialized I'm eying swapping out my Stumpjumper for an Evo model. I think im going to do more enduros in the future and not on the ebike, so want something that'll suck up the chunk.
