Best tonneau cover?

I just installed the LoPro by truXedo. I didn’t want a backflip since it takes up some of the bed space folded. With a lifetime warranty it was hard to pass up. For water or snow I’m not sure but they do have aluminum bars going across to help with weight distribution.

No complaints with the oem toyota one. It seals well, plus i'll bet you can stand on if not a real porker. I put an older 10k btu ac on top of it while shoving other stuff in the bed...cover never even sagged.

 

Do you need the entire bed frequently for motorcycles, bikes, kayaks or anything else?

 

I've had the LoMax for 3 years now and it's been great. I decided on it because IMO it's the best looking cover out there that fit my wants.

 

I have the DiamondBack and its nice. Pricey though.

 

I had an Extang tri-fold on a 2019 Honda Ridgeline that was a really nice cover. It wasn't heavy and could be easily removed if I wanted to use the entire bed. I ordered the BakFlip MX-4 from Toyota on my new Tacoma. I'm hopeful I like it as well.

Diamondback if you have the coin.

 

The Diamonback looks nice but what happens if you need full bed access?

 

You can remove the front or back lid or the whole thing.

 

I have the quad fold MX4 on my long bed. I made sure that I sealed it up good during the installation following the advice from a number of threads on here. No leaks in over a year and a half. Even with some of the heavy rains we have had.

 

FWIW - I think I am going to go with the Lomax. You want to wait until I get it and then I can tell you if you should just buy it?

Yes, pricey but the look of it is Sooooo Rugged.

I'd get the least expensive of the two as I'm not putting more than my weight to stand on it.

 

I just switch from a lopro truxedo to a retrax. The Truxedo was great, no drilling was necessary, and the bed stayed dry. During the warmer months i carry my kayak and have bed bars on the old gear and rolling up the Truxedo became a pain. The retrax solved that problem especially with a Yakima specific bed bar kit. I did lose space in the bed, i use a bed extender for the kayak and when the bed bars are off the bikes still fit.

 

I have a Diamondback and I’m honestly not super impressed. The cover itself is super high quality but the locking mechanism and clamps are poorly built. One of my gas shocks already broke and the rubber grommet on one of the locking rods wore away.

It definitely looks the best though and I have no doubt it’s the most secure option. It’s expensive though at close to 2k for the cheapest option depending on tax.

 

Anyone have the Bak Revolver?

 

I just got a Roll n Lock for my Tacoma and absolutely love it. Hard for me to beat the convenience of just retracting it into it’s own canister. I got the XT version so it has the slots for T accessories. You loose a little bed space at the top but have full access at the bottom. Might be worth a look.

How has Customer Service been with regards to replacing existing parts?

For the price, I would definitely expect the gas shocks to be replaced. As for the locking mechanism and clamps, definitely need to be top-quality!

I haven't pulled the trigger on the DB but I've been OK without it for now.

I'm looking at the Bushwacker Fender Flares at the moment. Less expensive mods and that's what it's all about early on for me!

 

Customer service was the best part. It might be worth the extra $$$ just for how awesome they are. They replaced the parts no questions asked.

I’ve had the cover for about a week now…maybe I just got a bad batch or something. All the internals are made out of really thin aluminum or cheap steel. But overall I really like the cover and have no doubts it’ll last for years to come.

 

I have a diamondback. Comes off easy if you need the full bed. Goes back on just about as easy.
