Their tune knocks horribly even on premium, I can say that for fact. They may offer a warranty and have smog approval. There is value in that.

I do not for one second doubt the package, as supplied could cause engine failure. Especially if driven hard or if poor/bad fuel is used. The truck knocks heavily even on quality premium in supplied configuration.

We've eliminated the knocking and the truck is far happier. I'm quite proud of what we accomplished.
    Thank you!

I am confident our tune will have every bit the service life the factory TRD tune would. If we could afford the CARB process, I'm certain it would pass and be 50 state legal too.

Thoughts on what could be causing the high wear metals from my report? This is my first one and did come to a couple of months after a nice dusty trip to Baja with my snorkel tube disconnected. Curious if this is just from dirt or other things I should be worried about.

I forgot to note that this was an S/C 4.0L. I sent them another sample from this year they noted was a bit better but they did not send me a report so not sure the difference but some higher parts of aluminium which concerns me as well although not noted.

Figure a few of you have some blackstone reports to compare to.

With the high silicone content, it could be suggested that is you've got some fine particulate past the filter and it's made it's way into the sump. The higher metals content is likely a result of the ingested particulate increasing wear throughout.

I posted mine in @rheath08 's rebuild thread where he posted his report right before my post as an attachment.

hmm, do you think I could have some bad seal where the S/C is bolted down? Any noises or things to think about there? My first thought was dust from the intake but interesting if it's making its way past the filter. Where else it could be making its way into.

If you do have particulates will it work its way out or do I need deeper work done to clear it? Only thoughts I can think of our the intake or event S/C itself. I did pull the covers when I did the cam gears so there is also that. Other could be injectors. I used the FIC rubber instead of the factory but cant thinks of any other spots that may let things in.

Maybe the sealant from the valve covers? ill run another one but that's pretty hi gh even compared to @rheath08 numbers.

The easiest "check" will be to do as you mentioned in look at the intake tract post filter. If you've got a fine dusting in the intake tract, that could explain everything. However, that's not the only point of possible ingress. It could also be a vac leak elsewhere on the intake tract letting in particulate. Injector seals could be it, but your fuel trims would show signs of this type of post MAF vac leak. Where are they?

Check your breather/pcv hoses too. It could be sealant, but given the high metal in the sample I'm more inclined to believe it's "dirt" that's found it's way in and accelerated the wear of your bearing/mating surfaces slightly.

Thanks, I haven't logged in recently but could spin up another one and see. I have thought about tossing the stock injector seals in. What did others use when adding the FICs?

Here is the second sample (I sent in 2 at the same time) but this one I did in a shorter internal closer to 3000 miles while I was doing some other work (also thought it had been longer)

Not sure what could have caused more fuel but this is after the updated tune we did @JustDSM I think I have the extra peppy one in there right now.

Ill pull the intake out and see if we got some dust hanging out in there.

There could be some extra fuel in there from the initial injector calibration. I typically try to error on the rich side and bring it back in when fitting new injectors. I also remember we did the 4Runner MAF/Intake that also required some calibrating. If this sample was during that time, the slight fuel content is likely from that. Not something I'd be concerned about unless you find it is consistently there.

    What filter are you using?

The latest one is without the T4R a couple of months ago in April. We had removed it since it was the initial wave and were having a hard time dialing it in. I am running a regular Toyota OEM filter which gets changed each time. Maybe they are fake filters from Ebay and do nothing ha that would be lovely.

May be time to revisit the tune. (I still need to add the fuel pump as I think it leans out at the peak, and tends to seem to stall out past 80 or so in WOT).

Couple of weeks was going to add the Ruth's and RIPP packs as well so may be a good time to check various fitting and such.

Any chance the S/C itself is not sealed up well or that would be pretty obvious?

Schedule some time with me and we can certain look everything over. I'm a little busier than usual, but I'll find some time to make sure all is tip-top.

Reminds me of the 2uz trd supercharger. Lots of knock there and their solution was to lower the boost.

Idk why but Toyota really underengineered the transmission on the tundra. They over built the rear end. Nevermind I do. Cost cutting.
    I do need one....
