I lost my key fob for my ‘17 sr5. Upon looking online im seeing options for US built, and japanese tacoma’s. The issue is mine was assembled in mexico (vin starts with 3). Dealership wont tell me a part number, unless i have it cut and programmed through them. Any help on a part number would be greatly appreciated.

No such thing as a Tacoma built in Japan, your truck should have an H Key.

Lookup Tomskey.com and chat with them. They will hook you up much cheaper than dealer. I made an extra key through them for my 18 Taco

If OP has working key, then he can use service at Tomskey... because the site says you need a working key in order to make a spare.

    https://tomskey.com/apps/help-cente...-work-even-if-i-no-longer-have-the-master-key.

If OP doesn't have a working key, then he has to go to Toyota for key made (or FOB reprogrammed.) Not sure the locksmith would be able to do this.

I heard some people got a Tacoma with one key... very odd to me because I got 3 keys (2 fobs).

    Some Tacomas come from Mexico.

    Some Tacomas come from Texas.

Last I heard that they move Tacoma production from Texas to Mexico.
