I finally found a nice second gen for not too insane price and bought it. It is a 2015 TRD Pro. Not sure I can see anything different from any other TRD taco.
I was looking at a Rough Country suspension and it said it will not fit the TRD pro. I called them and they said the shock towers were different? After a side by side look with a buddies 2009 TRD sport I can not see any difference.
Is there a difference in towers? If so what is it?
    Thank you

The TRD Pro is basically a combo of a TRD sport and OR with better suspension. You'll get a rear locker, hood scoop, suspension and badges.
The suspension bolts on just the same as all the other Tacoma trucks. So it's compatible with any and all kits that are made for a Tacoma. Tho I can't see why you would want to replace the TRD pro suspension with a Rough Country.

I'll second the opinion that the TRD PRO suspension is better than Rough Country. Why do you want to swap it out?

The problem might be the website. So many times I go to look for parts for my 2015 as well and some websites have an option for second get as 2005-2014. They don’t include the 2015 in the options. Weird.

but it’s the same thing as all the other Tacoma, as long as it’s a 6 lug.

I need to get more height to fit taller tires is why I am changing the suspension.
I was actually going to put Kings on it. I ran kings for a long time on my last two tacos and really am sick of rebuilding shocks twice a year! I thought I could keep an extra set of cheaper shocks to toss on during the summer when I don’t really need the Kings.
The Fox shocks were the worst and pitted so bad that I just tossed them with only 50,000 miles on them. That was after dealing with their crappy customer service.
Keep in mind I use my use of my Taco is extreme.

I believe in 2015, Toyota added gussets or something to where the shocks mount to the axle. Some aftermarket shocks might not fit because of that.
Edit: it affects shocks that have the body downward near the axle

I wouldn't go with Rough Country. Maybe try OME.

    Couple things -

More height does not necessarily equate to more clearance. The ceiling of the Tacoma fender is not the limiting factor, its the sides.

If your use is extreme, that's another reason to not consider rough country. If the pros don't cut it, then get something nicer, not cheaper.

The 2015 Pro was basically a TRD sport with the e-locker added and upgraded Bilstein shocks. Pretty sure it was 6112's on the front and 5160 on the rear. They already had a 1.75" front lift compared to a stock TRD Sport or OR. And they came with 32" (265/75/R16) tires instead of the 31's that came on the TRD Sport/OR, which is the largest tire you can fit without trimming.

There was nothing different about them in terms of fitment for new shocks. Anything that fits a 2005-2014 will fit a 2015 Pro. The Pro just basically had a factory leveling kit.

But if you need more room you'll need to get out the :sawzall:. A taller lift won't help much.
