Looks like my uncle is gonna give me 5 rifles that used to belong to my grandfather. None of the girls want them and I have a safe to keep them in. I'm not exactly sure what type they are though.

I had a 1974 CJ5 I stretched 12” (cut it in the middle of the door), stuck a 350 in, 4 speed granny trans, and 3/4 ton axles. I’d love to have a Scrambler.

I bought the Jeep from the guy who bought it new for $600. He was sick when I got done with it

That’s awesome! I imagine my brother will get all my dads guns. I’ve got one or two he gave me a while back though.

Does the engine go in front of the rear wheel and under the seat? What were they used for?

@Kilo Charlie how often are fire inspections supposed to happen? We just got inspected at the store and they got us for the fire extinguisher being out of date and said we need numbers on the store at least 6" each.

They obviously haven't been in 3 years cause last time they got us for the extinguisher and I went and got it swapped out. And 6" tall letters on a small store, come on now. The ones hanging on the mailbox in black and white aren't good enough?

The inspector told my wife "I don't know how I missed the numbers last time" she said "you've never been, last time we got inspected it was a black guy"

Pretty easy to remember that :D

Yep, right ahead of the single rear wheel. Tractors with the engine mounted so close to the operator are often referred to as "ball burners" for the obvious reason.

You could use them for any garden tractor chore, mowing, plowing, pulling a wagon. With the single rear wheel they had a deserved reputation for being easy to tip, legend is that the engineer in charge refused to have his picture taken with one after the project was finished.

David Bradley company was owned by Sears & Roebuck and at one time was the largest maker of garden tractors in the world. Through some mergers and purchases in the 60's-80's BD became owned by Electrolux and part of American Yard Products along with Husqvarna, Poulan & Weedeaster.

That would be neat with a front blade to push snow, you know, for the warmth coming off the engine :bananadead:

Your fire extinguishers are supposed to be inspected monthly by you and annually by a service. They also have a 6 year (?) tear down and recharge and a longer interval (might be 10) that they are sent out to be hydro-tested.

I just had my annual inspection at the garage yesterday, the inspector is an old friend from the work days so he always schedules it for his last job of the day and we have a good sit & visit too.

I got my exterior numbers from a craft store for about $3 each, they are made of Masonite so I painted them up good with oil base paint, should last awhile.

Fire extinguishers themselves should be inspected and tagged every year. The inspection in the store to see if you actually have them, I am not sure. The 6 inch numbering seems excessive as well. Around here the numericals are on a reflective sign at the street level. I am not aware of any size requirements for on a building. Obviously the bigger they are the easier it is for first responders to see. Might be worth investigating the real requirements at your local level.

Probably not heavy enough to do much with the snow I get here. And 3 wheels plowing on a slope...

From being in the F.D. for years, I get numbers are very important but 6" ones seems excessive. Thanks for the info, I'll call the F.D. and ask them.
