I won't bring my truck to a car wash and I live in an apartment. I just ask my friend if I can use her driveway.
I also have a snorkel so a car wash might do some damage.

Mixed emotions, partly “it’s finally broken in!” And partly “time to step up my (already good) maintenance schedule”. Of course I missed the actual rollover, the part where you get out in traffic and dance around the truck like you’re in an 80s Toyota commercial.

Stock led tails with incandescent tail lenses? Or did you use some type of film? Looks great

Got my estimates to strip, seal, primer, base and clear coat the hood and roof. 1 was $1000 from our local MAACO that comes highly recommended by friends and that has a 2 year warranty. They also quoted $2200 to do the entire truck with a 5 year warranty. Another well respected 50 year old shop also quoted $1000 and is at the top of my list. Then a fancy-shmancy shop quoted $1900 for the roof and hood but they insisted on blending 1/2 way down the front fenders which would then not match my doors (duh). So now in the decision stage. Will def spend $1000 but undecided where. $2200 is not bad for the whole truck but not sure I trust a full MAACO paint job. It is a 14 year old truck and I think I can live with a few minor body scratches. Murphys law would most definitely find a way to find regret with a full paint job. So how do I create an "old retired man needs a new walker (paint job)" gofundme page ?

On that note, I need a go fund me for a new front bumper. There are a lot of deer in Washington and I could hit one and die. It’s a real possibility. Save my life by donating today

I would skip MAACO, i have seen some of their jobs around here and i think they completely skip the wetsanding and prep stage. The 50yr shop sounds like the way to go and they may be able to blend or repaint the grill and bumper so it looks fresh with the hood as well.

I bought a black 95 ford ranger that had a Maaco full paint job years ago. It was good from far but far from good as they say haha. You could see the clear coat seams in the jams and stuff like that. I was like 18 or 19 at the time so I didn’t care, it was shiny.

In your case, I’d definitely pick the reputable body shop

My thought exactly. If they hosed up the roof and hood that would be bad enough. If they hosed up the entire body I would lose it. I am sold on the other reputable shop for the same price. I have dealt with 3 generations of owners there since the mid 1970's and have complete confidence in them. They did a great paint match on my sons rear quarter and trunk a few years ago. So I am now on the 2 week waiting list to get in. The painted grille is new. Very anxious to get it done. I was pretty shocked at the one $1900 quote that DID NOT include a reach-around.

No more reach around these days, they slip a finger in at the same time. LOL I think in 2 weeks we will see some pics of a new hood and roof on here. Congrats on finding a reputable shop

This is my hood. Pretty bad. This is why I haven't washed it lately.
    20220603_134803.jpg
This is my roof. Looks much better in the picture. The rest of the truck looks great except for some typical scratches. No dents in the body.
