Yea let me know. I have gone back and forth in my mind so many times about it. I had the bakflip, and I really liked it being flush. I had heard the lomax didnt leak at all, but now i'm reading people saying it does leak. My bakflip didn't leak at first when i bought it (used, came on my 2017) I don't know how old it was, after 2 years of me owning it it started to leak.

My Lomax barely leaks and I've had it for 3 years. It's just at the corners and runs down the side of the bed. In the summer I keep my golf clubs in the bed and they've never been wet. I also keep a basket full or straps, receiver, etc right in the corner where it leaks and they stay dry too. Its never enough to puddle and or really even get on my bed mat. So I haven't really cared to look into try and fixing it.

Do you have one, and if so, would you recommend it?

Yep, I have one. I like it a lot. I think it’s comparable strength and safety wise to most of the other ones. you can stand on it. What I really like most is it can be removed by myself in a minute with no tools.

Where do you live? I'm in FL, the rain here is a bit different lol. I might go with the new lomax that can be folded up against the bed. That was a big drawback for me. I am a sales rep for a plumbing supplier and drive a lot for work. I have to fill up my bed at a moments notice so i can't have 1/3 of my bed unusable, and don't have room to take the cover off and leave it in the bed sometimes. I forget the name of the one that flips up but that may be the one I go with.

I appreciate the info. That’s the one I was looking at and will probably go with.

Im in IL so our rain is a bit different. But we still occasionally get really heavy downpours and the volume of rain doesn't really change how much is in the bed. There's drains in the bed right where it leaks in so it never puddles up. You could probably make it almost 100% water tight but I never saw the need.

No problem, definitely keep up with some kind of protectant from the start. like any piece of trim its going to fade without anything on it. I got mine on craigslist. I think there’s a fairly good chance if you keep your eyes peeled you could find one that came on someone’s truck automatically and they didn’t want it so they are getting rid of it. If you do get it secondhand make sure you get all the hardware with it. There’s a bunch of threads about it and if you need it I have a list of all the hardware needed because I had to piece mine together.

The toyota cover does require a 12mm socket to remove that 1 bolt that locks the cover in place.

I fricked up and bought another damn truxedo lo pro last month. I was going to get the Rough Country hard folding cover but could not get the joker at Autoanything to give me much of a discount so after 3 days of dickering on the price he sold me the Lo Pro for $500 out the door so I'm paying for that for another 5 months. This fall once I get this Lo Pro paid for it is going in the dumpster and I am going to finance a Rough Country for sure!
