This is pretty cool! The cover on the rear wheels reminds me of an Oliver 77 Orchard.

For the most part stuff like this is worth what you are willing to pay.
You will be buried in it in hours especially to make it factory new.

If it takes credit to buy something it probably isn't a good idea -- if you have the disposable income and enjoy the project along the way that has a value too.

Pre-zact-ickly! None of this stuff is worth going into debt, making Visa payments for, etc. It's no different than any other hobby, except, that when you factor in all the time, effort, etc, the end product cost about 5x what you figured, and is worth maybe... 10% of that.

So true -- my $100 New Holland is about a $800 mower now and probably worth $400...

I'm not really :pout: about it though -- this is perfectly normal for me.

I just called the F.D. to talk to the chief but he wasn't in so I talked to one of the captains whom I've known forever. He said that inspectors niche is numbers cause I'm the 3rd person to ask him in a month

I see some project cars but getting people to sell is another thing. That Camaro i posted a while back isnt worth much but would be nice project LS swap. Which would be cheaper in long run

Yep... like those Fordsons… if I can get the pair for <$2000, I'd be good. Then I still have to borrow my buddy's dually and pay food, fuel & beer for a 350 mile (each way) trip, as well as hire a crane to get the iron from the field on to the trailer. IF I get them, I'd be into the whole thing for about 5K by the time they hit my driveway. With 12-18 months labour, and another $1-2K in paint, supplies, misc parts (assuming nothing catastrophic is wrong), at the end of the day, I'd have a unit that might fetch, at MOST, $2,500-3,000 at a good auction!!

Did the Captain have an answer?

Perhaps there's something in writing that the inspector is referencing would be a help. Not sure what kind of local government you're under but sounds to me like the inspector is just making shit up.
