I spent lots of time up in that area in the early seventies.

He said with all the commercial buildings going up in the county they made a change to the size of the letters because people plant so much shrubbery around them they eventually can't see the smaller numbers. They consider our store commercial even though it's less than 1,000 sq. ft. and has zero shrubbery. It is what it is and we'll put some numbers on it although they won't be that large.

I wonder it has to be a local thing. Here many commercial buildings have no numbers.

Unless it is one of those things never enforced

I can understand the not wanting to sell it took me a few years to come to terms that the projects I have are never going to get finished.

Now of course no one really has extra money . Then for what ever reason it seems no one is into the 4x4 pick ups is any place close to me.

Don't hate on me cause I weld on the clamp. I do a lot of welding on table legs that are painted and sometimes I don't get the paint ground off enough to get an arc so I touch it to the clamp. The contacts are burnt pretty bad anyway so it needed a replacement.

You and very many others .

Why not weld a tab to the clamp for your output and work connection test??

I could send you a nice new clamp.

I put a 500 amp clamp on the table with quick connects. If I need to move the work clamp I have a few different length extensions.

A customer brought this by to see if we could get the 3 broken bolts out.

    IMG_9270.jpg

2 of them shouldn't be a problem, there is enough to put some vice grips on.

    IMG_9272.jpg
    IMG_9273.jpg

Put a little hot wrench on them and turned them enough to grind the first bit off and took em back out the back.

    IMG_9275.jpg
    IMG_9276.jpg
    IMG_9277.jpg

The last one didn't have enough to grab so I ground it flush and a little heat and what is left of a left handed center drill.

The customer said "I started to try and get them out myself but figured I'd let yawl do it". I said thanks cause most people bring us stuff like this with a broken easy out in the bolt

Because by the time they get to this point the contacts are burnt pretty bad anyway so they need to be replaced anyhow. Boss mans brother in law owns the local hardware and he supports him with the purchase of a new one and gets a small tax write off :D

This was actual idea that was floated whilst I was working that outage in Michigan earlier this year. Their thought was to run the cutoff wheel slow enough that it didn't make sparks:rofl:
Whatever....I went and looked at the situation and think with a little luck that I may be able to just enlarge the bezels and make the unit fit. This work is right inside the control room. Work in there....so intense you can almost hear the pucker:burp:

Last time I replaced the ground clamp was March 2020. 2 years with a lot of welding and $11 for a replacement ain't too bad to me.

    Cool!

I'm about 3 hours from there, and haven't been there for several years.
I remember white knuckles on the steering wheel for some of the stretches of the road up there. Can't believe people actually race up that road.
