Anybody do an upgrade to dual exhaust? Thinking about having the exhaust running in front of the rear wheels out the body kit. Don’t have a pic but this is my truck.

Don’t hack up the skirt on the XRunner. Save your money and get yourself the URD SPEC-U Exhaust.

It won’t be an upgrade. Think about your engine firing order.

Ditto: The XRunner trim parts are specialty items that are already rare. If you modify them to accommodate a dual-exhaust set-up and keep the truck for a (short) while then want to go back to stock later to sell it (or just regretted the decision): it will cost you a small fortune for a few years and then a -huge- fortune later -if- you can find the parts. I'd love to convert mine to dual exhaust some day. (ahem-cough: can't afford it ) But if I could, it would go straight out to the back on either side.

    But it looks sooo cool.

@TodayWasTHeDaY did it! Check out his build thread.

Note it was on a 4x4 though. But, might give you some ideas. Kind of agree about hacking up the skirt as mentioned before.

@12TRDTacoma did it before me and I followed his lead. We are both supercharged though, no sure how much benefit there would be for NA.

He says his doesn't drone and he's got some cats still. I'm catless with two resonators and it seems to drone a little under certain conditions but nothing major.

Maybe it's just fine, and will never be an issue, but I don't like anything about those mufflers being welded together like that.

Eh, it's a tight space and if they aren't fastened together somehow it would be more likely to squeek, rattle and wear a hole in something in my eyes.

Although flex in everything could potentially cause a crack in the muffler(s) at the welds.

Guess time will tell on that one.

Yea, I'd have probably put some sort of rubber or something between them, but my idea may have been worse. It just feels off to me. Maybe the best option though.

Once you get your solid trans and motor mounts in I'm sure it'll be no worries.

Care to elaborate on the firing order.
