Fancy pool noodle to stick inside your tubeless tires. They provide some better protection against impact/corner strike type of flats.

I did a thing. Not exactly what I wanted, but basically a spaceship compared to my 25+ year old bike. And I just bought a big ass boat, and tires, and some misc maintenance stuff, and the wife wants a RTT, so the boss lowered my budgetary limits. And this was on sale. 20220602_185358.jpg

I did not die. About 1 mile in this morning at Blue Hills my buddies tire popped, so we turned back. I went out again during lunch to Whitehall state park which apparently according to my watch is ~8.2 miles around and the ground surface made entirely of wet roots. That may have been the slowest 8 miles ever at just under 2 hours.

Lake Whitehall is an interesting ride. I haven't been there in years though. How's it holding up?

That’s a hell of a ride…. Usually mine are in the 1,000 - 1,500 ft range. Climbing that kind of elevation is a hell of an accomplishment.

It's like a single foot wide in a lot of places, basically all roots, and some decent rocks that require carrying your bike. I'd say not very conducive to biking. Even trail running would suck due to the roots.

Gracias good sir. I would not recommend going there, it's not really fun. I'd say annoyingly technical and not really suited for mountain bikes.

My garmin watch. Garmin instinct. I usually use it for running, but it also has a biking recording mode.
