I just need to go and get the parts honestly. Been waiting for the shop to need weld gas refilled and I'd pick the stinger set up from them while I was there but we've been welding less and less at work now that boss man is outsourcing or fab work to other local shops.

It'll only cost you the exchange of all the stuff you've been saving (and have set aside) for me

At least you haven’t hard failed. I’m about 6 hours deep on my ford 60 gear/locker, dialed it in w setups, final pressed everything and it’s totally fucked. Gotta take it all back apart and have no clue why. Fml

Always always always make sure they only buy hose and fittings to match the crimper, in your case Eaton. We use Parker at my shop, brands do not mix well so don't let them start buying cheaper fittings.

Make sure you get a lubricating spray (like a Teflon spray or something) and spray the die every couple uses.. it'll make em last longer and give a smoother crimp. Also make a guide to verify you have the hose seated fully in the fitting. we use a hunk of pvc cut to the depth of the fitting recess and then mark the hose with a paint marker, so when you push the fitting into the hose you have a visual mark showing you're in deep enough. Lubing the inside of the hose end will make fitting installation easier, I just use engine assy grease cause it's waaaaaayy cheaper than the stuff marketed directly for it

Good advice, thanks! All this stuff is stocked by Lawson, and it’s all Eaton branded.

Nice! Super convenient to have a rep stock the shit ... im to anal in my parts ordering so I won't let a vendor do it for me lol

I'm not a fan of the Eaton stuff, it works, and is better than some dodgey suppliers for sure. But I HATE how unclean their crimps look, and as the dies wear out, those ridges will start looking worse and eventually be jagged enough to cut you bad enough you'll need stitches.

    Here's a parker crimp for comparison 20220218_145111.jpg

I'll have to search back but I know @Kwikvette posted 3.4 lengths for me. I could honestly have em shipable by next Friday, I need to figure a price cause I'm not sure what I get charged for our 1/0 wire. Or I could do 4ga if you wanted
