In this picture it look like they poured the stairs right over the existing walkway.

We were all about tearing out and redoing. Easier to start from scratch and fix a problem. Well, our preference anyway.:notsure:

    I'm thinking the same.

The more I look at the porch, the more red flags pops up in my head.

I just hope to find someone who knows what their are doing, to prevent this from happening again.

The contractor that was supposed to stop by bailed out. He replied in a text, to far of a travel.

At least you got a text back. Ive had contractors say they will show up and no phone call, text, wont answer phone. No show! Just tell me up front if you can do it or not.

I had a few of those already.

What if they do the work and something goes wrong. The games will begin.

Hang in there….I’m sure you can get it figured out!
It’s unbelievable to me that contractors do this but it happens everywhere. Side note….. so do some employees :angrygirl::facepalm:

It's not that bad, but it's more than I bargain for.

The whole hold up is waiting to find a masonry contractor. Then the whole yard can get screen loam, then hydroseeded.

Doing the porches the yard is going to get torn up.

This is why you never pay in full until job is complete. We required partial payment for work completed on some jobs. This protected both parties. We also had a timeframe where we would make things right should something happen against our work specifically.

The company that teared up the yard was a hack. Did what he wanted. Now I have to pay someone to clean up his mess.

He wanted the check in his name, not the company name. Kind of shady.

Yep, all i need is if contractor can do the job i want done. No bs, if hes too busy or cant get it done say so up front so he doesnt waste both of our time. But i guess they cant do that.

Im all for side work to get done if its done right. Sometimes bypassing company is cheaper. Kinda hit and miss though

I get this all the time. When you yes to the job, then they do what they want.

    Can’t believe they didn’t fix the yard…. That’s a given I would have assumed!!

Check in his name sounds like he’s trying to hide from business taxes and income.

Yup…. Just be upfront. People call to give you business. The least you can do is be respectful and thank them for the opportunity and let them know you can’t do it at this time. People can respect that.
