I think its bad all over the country. Contractors should do it right and how you want it done.

    Not a legit business.

The cold weather came in to quick that forces to put a stop to the project.

Atleast there something to work with. Slight excavation work left to do then seeding.

Everyone has an opinion on how things should be done.

He put a low lying area in the middle of the yard. Now when it rains I have a pool. I was going to put a shed in that area.

    I guess I can't now.

Does the ground have to be somewhat hard after excavation work takes place. After back filling the low lying area, the ground is going to be somewhat soft. I don't know if it will support the weight of a shed or the shed is going to sink.

I’ve also got a very wet yard in my area, built on a filled in swamp, they did really smart things in the 70’s. I’m considering using these to support a floating deck/shed/grill area I’m putting together

It's cheaper because you're bypassing the contractors license, general liability insurance and workmans comp insurance.

I get asked all the time if I do side work. My answer is always "I don't. Here's my bosses card and if you'd like me to do your project give him a call and ask for me specifically."

It works out well for everyone. My boss gets work. The customer gets me to do that work. I am covered by my bosses workmans comp and liability in case something bad happens. I get a kickback for the referral from my boss. Sure, the homeowner ends up paying more then if they hired some fly by night "handyman" but that's because it's all legal. lol

Man y’all were chatty today, I’m 4 pages behind haha.

I got my shower framed up and started on the foam/plywood install on the bedroom side of the wall. Things are starting to shape up. I’m ready to start learning electrical.

this has been a fun learning process.

This yard was all trees, swamp. When the house was built we added loam to bring it up higher. But people doesn't know how to pitch rain water away from the house.

I was thinking about using these, if I can find tall ones.

My sister does the pics, she will be here Monday. I suck at taking pics.

If I can take some dirt from one area and move it to another I should be all set. I still need screen loam.

Everything on the shed will be wood. I found a few companies that has pre-fab shed. They should have the shed built in 2 hours or less. I just have to wait month for the garage door to come in. The shed has a door height of 6ft but to accommodate the garage door the opening has to be 7ft.

I put a level on the porch out of curiosity, length isn't that bad. But the depth was about 2" off. Slant towards the house.

Are you going to back fill around the stairs?

I've been through 2 regulators in the last 5 years in AZ. Original one was about 23 years old and replaced a second time about 2 years after. The city water is so chock full of chlorine and hard minerals (calcium and magnesium) plumbing just doesn't last. I'd guess the regulator or something to do with your expansion tank.

Keep an eye on your HW heater if it's around that age. I had an 10 year old one give out and flood the bedroom adjacent the garage wall. Insurance covered, but it was a major gut. Switched to a tankless HW heater after that. ;)

I Google "Mexican river rock" to see what it was. Is it the same as Mexican Beach Pebbles?

Are you going with the gray looking rock?
