I'd be open to doing something to the rear, but I'm hoping stupidity doesn't come into play and I go breaking shit before I protect anything.

By the way, isn't Ramcast the same as Ornamental?

Only mentioned Ornamental as it's larger, and they have a bin full of discounted material from either left over cuts, or stuff customers didn't take, etc.

I was at ramcast (Ornamental) a few weeks ago, I didn't see any useful seconds hand metal. I know Valley Iron have a large remnant section.

I'd recommend the 2x2 square. 2x3 works and is what I used but unless you put it together with the 3" side horizontal, you end up with the lock/latch thing on the outside, like mine is. Not a huge deal but I'd prefer it on the inside like it is with 2x2 square. I have a minor issue with the latch backing out a little after a while and have to keep an eye on it. I think it's because it was designed to work the other way. I need to weld a little booger on the end of the lock to stop it from backing out.

    Ahh good point.

I plan on using the same 4XInnovations kit you used as well.

Tow hitch is already removed, so I just need to remove the corner brackets and figure out how I'll mount it all up.

Thinking multiple flat pieces of 3/16" for the 'face'.

What thickness square tubing did you go with?

I think it was 1/4" for the main tube there. You want that a little thicker since you are welding the tire carrier mount to it. Weight and all that.

Need to pull the rear off first, which will happen today or tomorrow.

    We were camping last weekend.

Afterward, I'll need to measure all I'd need.

I'm most likely going with 3/16" steel for the face. It'll go on the face of the rear crossmember and on top. Going to order a 4XInnovations mount but wondering if I should go passenger side....
