Shit, I gotta do emissions this August for Jeffco but I'm working up in Steamboat Springs till October.
Unless they compensate for Martha's thirsty ass I'm not driving the 500-mile round trip.

I can confidently tell you, I see expired tags rolling around for 2020/2021 more than current tags. People still give the excuse "Oh, I've been trying to get into the DMV" or "The DMV is really backed up".

No it ain't. You can walk in almost any day at the DMV now and get what you need done.

P.S. The max ticket you can get for expired tags is about $100. (Not including whatever the DMV late fee's are to register)

I was washing my DD the other day and realized I forgot to renew my tags. They were 6 months expired. Took me about 30 minutes at the dmv, but had to pay a $100 late fee. I should probably pay more attention to things that don't involve bourbon, tequila, or finding more things I think I need to buy for my taco.

DMV online renewals and appointment scheduling is awesome in CO. Last time I had to go to the DMV I showed up 5 minutes before my appointment time and was out with new plates in 15 minutes

It's pretty smooth most of the time. Had to get an emissions test for my Xterra last week which took forever, but renewed the registration online after. I had to deflate my 35's to 33.5 for them to pass it though.

never go to the fixed site emission locations - just be sure to go through a roadside location(s) - can't do same location twice in the same day - takes two passing tests - have to be done minimum of 3 months before due date. Free and you don't have a stooge messing with your vehicle. Registration will come and say "Passed" and if it says emission required - well that sucks! And off you go to the site that could care less about what they do to your vehicle.

Good to know thanks for the heads up. Unfortunately I didn't pay attention and went to the DMV first without realizing I needed to get emissions testing. I will definitely do that going forward.
