Fitting 35’s with minimal trimming NOW ADDING LONG TRAVEL AND 934 CV’s

So how big of a jdfab sticker do I need to put on the side of my truck to have you ship everything Monday and forget about sending the bill? If you haven’t heard, I am a bit of an influencer now.

I got a guy too. Also need to convince the wife to let me bob the bed. Truggy will definitely be a no, but I could roughly chop about 18” of bed and keep my leaf pivot points. Links I could go even more! But need bedsides and bed still for aesthetics.

 

9” of frame and 14” of body puts you right at the back of the hangers, just sayin

 

It’s a satisfying feeling backing up and stopping only when your rear tires contact something. Makes it much more nimble.

 

You only like your leafs so much because you haven’t experienced the truck with 4 link and a lot more up travel. You already have bypass shocks and the rear axle, I’ll sell you the used 16” coilovers I have for cheap. The biggest expense will be a fuel cell but that’s an easy sell to the wife because it’s for safety

 

Comfort and safety are how I pitch things to the wife, and links would achieve both of those things. Really he would be doing it for her.

Ditch the bed. Anything that can’t fit a 4x8’ sheet flat in the bed is a toy and not a truck anyways

 

Wife likes to fit a small cooler and a few chairs. The spare takes up 90% of the bed anyways

 

Once I had to have a larger spare than would fit in the stock location my taco pretty much became useless as a truck. I wish I would have gotten the f150 a few years ago. It is insanely more practical for my work and remodeling our house and maintaining the land with it. There’s something about having an American “made”, or designed rather, truck. The dimensions of other American shit just work and fit right in it…4x8 sheets fit flat, I put two tubs flat in the bed with the tailgate up etc etc. This is how doing work in a Tacoma felt, especially every single trip to Home Depot-

The truck literally starts with the word “toy”. If you want to do real man stuff you buy a real truck... if you want a toy buy a Toyota.

 

Haha good point. The taco saw its fair amount of work over the years and got me through my first gut job of a house I bought in my early 20’s, but damn it was clunky doing it.

 

How do you fit bedsides that are longer than the bed itself while still fitting the full size spare? With magic. New advanced bedsides for the Toy. Now I just gotta find time for more install headaches. Also I need to go 35s. 33s look funny after the front fiberglass.

 

You need to use your truck. Not go bigger in tire size.

 

Maybe I like it being shiny. But no, I agree. I gotta make some adjustments, do some maintenance, and hopefully get bumpers put on. Then it’s back to the dirt.

 

My Kings have finally arrived after over a year of waiting, so I can finally install my lower pivot mounts. They've been sitting in the garage for almost 8 months now so while I've read through the entire thread I'm a little hazy on some of the details because it's been so long. Hoping people can answer a couple of questions for me. For context, I'm keeping the stock lower control arms.

What are these oval things in the attached picture? There are four in total that came with the kit.
What's the thickness of the frame where the pivots mount? I want to pick up some scrap steel to dial in my welder beforehand.
I live in British Columbia and the road salt can be pretty shitty, what did people in road salt climates use for paint?
What alignment numbers should I be asking the shop to set the front end to?
I plan on upgrading the LCA bushings while I have the LCA's off, does anyone have any recommended bushings?
How far forward/how many pucks have people found to be best for stock LCA's? I'm currently on 35's and want to push the LCA's as far forward as possible
With the pivot kit does the amount of preload on my coil overs matter? Or is there an ideal amount to set them to
