ive had good luck winter camping in mine. my only note is that the main window in the back doesnt seal all the way at the bottom. so air for sure makes its way in there. ive been brainstorming ideas to be able to full close off the bottom that can create a draft. The fabric isnt breathable really but venting up top can help, ive never had the material freeze as it is basically really nice boat cover thats double treated. where in ID are ya? im located in Teton Valley if you wanted to check one out in person.

I was talking to my wife about possibly having her modify the rear flap. Adding velcro on the bottom of the flap and tent where they meet to secure it at the bottom. I've also been thinking of adding material to the sides when the rear flap is propped open.. creating an awning/annex like on RTT windows. IDK how possible it is.. just an idea right now.

Id also love to somehow fab up a clear vinyl window for the back window. It kills me being not able to have a window when it is all buttoned up in weather, or in the morning when it is cold and i dont want to have the window wide open..

To those who have had a Super Pacific X1 for a significant amount of time: How difficult is it to remove? Would appreciate hearing your methods for removal. The X1 looks to check all my boxes for overlanding, but my Taco doubles as a regular utility truck (landscaping, dump runs, moves, etc.) in the off-season. I'm hesitant to go the X1 route unless safe/easy removal/install/storage options are possible. Thanks.

It weighs ~375 lbs so about double what a fiberglass topper does. If you have access to a forklift it would be easy but otherwise a PITA. I consider it permanently mounted tbh.

@KRUD I'm pretty sure that is silver which is not offered anymore. IIRC they had some issues with the paint and/or vendor that could not be resolved. You should be able to find pics of dark grey as you keep going through the pages.

I've never removed mine, it's permanent as far as I'm concerned. If you want to use the truck for doing truck things just make sure any build out you do is easily removable. When empty inside it is the same as having a regular canopy on the truck but maybe with better side door access. Honestly if you have something you can't fit in the back with the X1 on there you could just rent/borrow a trailer, u-haul or home depot truck for a day. That would be much easier than taking the camper on/off. You may find once you have an X1 that your off season becomes a lot shorter.

Workin on it boys! appreciate the support

yes! very much so. Pleased that it was a one revision fix. lol I could tweak it more.. but I'd just be splitting hairs at that point. Its definitely more taut, in both directions too. I plaid with every combo and position and both holes (whether you use the top hole or side hole) provide enough tension. So no matter what setup or combo you choose to do or need to do, they will work. Got the spud on the backside sized better too.. and this set I sized to mimic having Anodize as well. They fit nice and snug in the slots with no rotation.

Alright.. here's my final revised prototype. Used some fine Media we had here at the shop to blast them. Going to run these for a while and then make a batch sized correctly and send off to Anodize.. make sure the build up on Ano is all good and fitment into the t slot doesn't change and we are ready!

Some pics of their new facility they are slowly moving into. Sacha says they plan to be able to produce 40 units per week!

Anybody know of a 180 or 270 awning I might mount on the rear, 55" closed? I have a 55" CVT awning and bug room mounted on the rear, kind of an extension of the interior, but I want more coverage. I'm thinking if I had a 180 awning on the rear I could still have a bug room on the rear, but also have more coverage on sunny days. Thanks.
