What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

I even washed under my hood before giving the engine/firewall/inner fenders a quick clean.

 

Worked on changing my tcase from electronic 4wd shift actuator into a manual shift.

 

I dont think my truck’s pinstripes were painted on because the white top layer is cracked (unlike the clear coat it sits on). But the adhesive is a 2nd black layer that after 10 years has bonded with the paint that I can’t remove with an abrasive without damaging the paint. I’m watching a ton of bodyshop YouTube vids to learn how to basically thin & smear the original paint to fix the shadow. Kind of like using a mr clean magic eraser on walls in your house. I hope you luck out by taking off the top sticker layer and the old 2nd adhesive layer would be a close match to the black paint scheme. Regardless, plan on doing a decent wax job as part of the project to counteract any chemicals and/or rubber eraser damage to the clear coat

What about the Black Rhino Stadiums in bronze? They’re not too flashy, since you’re looking for a darker bronze. I have the black version.

 

My boss (he’s awesome) said he’ll be my helper 6/25-26 to do the leafs, ubolt flip, sumosprings, shocks, UCA & ECGS bushing because he has a baby shower at his house that he’s trying to avoid. Win win!

Installed my 6112s from @memario1214 with the help of @crashnburn80 of course. Only took one photo, but I also had to cut off my sway bar end links because of course, I can't work on my truck with out some piece of shit bolt breaking/stripping/rounding... needless to say I also removed my sway bar, which will hopefully go back on asap because damn, drives like a boat now..

 

Doing this in ~3 weeks after all the parts arrive. Just nervous about what I’ll run into, like you did. Everything I’ve read says totally worth it though

 

The ride so far is awesome! Won't be able to test it on some fire roads for a bit though

Thanks, it seems like wheels have gone up quite a bit in price just in the last couple months. I'm always hoping for some used ones local but I seem to be on the wrong coast for most of that.

Be careful with your tailgates! I was unloading a Harley (soft tail slim 672 lbs) with a 2x6 ramp. The tailgate easily buckled from to much weight in a small area. Use wide ramps people!!!
