My first things were new tires and a tailgate lock. After that I just did things that enable me to best do the things I love.

I get that, but when i had to take this tech package, i also inquired about bed lights. The dealer told me with that tech package the truck comes with them.

The first thing I do is to wax it, and get weather tech floormats to help keep it clean.

Any links to which ones you like? I feel like I'd want an oversized one in width and length.

The video only refers to the so-called warranty toyoguard add-on as being mandatory with Southeast Toyota Distributors LLC, it does not talk about all other "planned" options. The add-ons that do not occur at the factory should be removable "if" you agree to purchase the vehicle prior to it being built and delivered to the dealership. As I stated earlier, there are some ethical dealers that will allow you to delete the equipment you don't want. Dealerships can make the changes online as my dealer did and I received my vehicle minus the all-weather floor liners, bedstep, blackout pkg, bed lighting kit, bed mat, door edge guards, mudguards, and a soft tonneau cover ($2500)

Unless you scored a 0% APR loan, pay it off . People modify their rides paying with a credit card. So if they don't pay the entire bill in full, or are paying cash, they are losing money making monthly credit card payments. On top of monthly car payments. So in my case I ll write the check and pay it off one shot.

I'm not sure if Southeast Toyota Distributors allows that from their dealerships, from the ones I've spoken to they didn't want to budge on removing the meaningless options. I do agree that there were other dealerships not through Southeast Toyota Distribution that allowed you to remove port installed options.

I even spoke to a dealership in the Southeast that was ridiculous in adding the Southeast Distribution package and Lojack, Flashing 3rd brake light, Paint Protection, Nitrogen filled tires, and wheel locks for $2500... it's increasingly hard to find ethical dealers, just happy I did end up finding one.

First thing I did with my 4 day old ‘22 Pro was to take it on a week long, 2200 mile road trip with my wife to five National Parks in Utah. Bryce, Capitol Reef, Canyonlands, Arches and the Grand Canyon. I drug my Predator steps off-roading in Moab, so they came off and rock sliders were installed. Now I am looking for a bed cover to keep things out of sight when we park. As needs arise and become apparent I will address them. Until then, I am just going to enjoy racking up the miles.

Sweet truck and awesome trip! I did nearly the same trip in late 2020 and loved it. It would have been even cooler to do in my Tacoma!

I’d definitely install the window tint ASAP. The weather tech, check. Forget wax that’s what people used while listening to the Beatles back in the day. Forget paying retail and find a local detail supply shop that sells to the detailers. Most of them will sell to public way less than retail and can offer expert advice unlike dealing with local salesperson that know little or nothing. If you do ceramic on a new truck get the kind that has a 5 year or better life. Do it all including the headlights, windshield. When it’s right you can rinse clean because dirt or bugs won’t stick. It’s that good.

Don't know about now, but years ago the dealer told me never to wax a new vehicle till you get some time with it. Said new vehicles have soft paint, and waxing can harm the finish.

Yeah I’m not interested in the predator steps but really thinking about some sort of running board. How’d you decide on the 2nd gen? Primary thinking on my end is about having some thing that extends out farther than the doors so it gets hit instead of doors (and also maybe that my dog can use to help jump in?).

Have you been happy with it? I’ve been reading all the TW threads about ceramic coating… Wondering how it’ll hold up on a red Taco that will live out in the AZ sun/elements. Trying to budget out my first big expenses (that are best to do on a brand new vehicle, in particular) and tint is the definite #1. Then researching/considering ceramic coating and/or paint protection film.
