Soon to become a tripod. She got into a nasty fight with something and one of her back leg was almost chewed off. There's little chance it can be saved at this point.

We have two tripods - one missing a back leg and the other a front.

Allie lost her back leg when she was kicked or stomped on by some a$$hole (he killed her sibling). We got her after the vet amputated the leg. She also has neurological damage from the trauma. She is the sweetest girl and nothing slows her down. Animals are amazingly resilient...

I would literally tear a human apart if I ever witnessed them harming my cats or dog. And I abhor violence and brutality.
The duality of Man is a philosophical topic ripe for discussion, we are capable of amazing kindness and generosity, but we are all also capable of stomach churning violence.

eta: It doesn’t even have to be my animals anymore, or even pets. I would whoop some strange kids asses if I ever encounter them doin Dahmer shit.

 

I just hope there's a special place in Hell for people who treat animals like that...

Wasn't trying to go dark, but to celebrate Allie's spirit and that of special animals like her. She is an inspiration and a wonderful part of my wife's and my life...

Allie had a couple of her neurological seizures while we were just upstairs. Scary and should never have had to happen.

I have no idea what attacked her, a feral cat or maybe a racoon. I came home at night after work and found a puddle of blood on the porch and all over the barn. I thought she had been killed at first, but I found her hiding after hours of searching. It won't happen again as she will not be allowed outside with 3 legs.

 

What a horrible traumatic experience for both of you. We had a similar experience with one of our late cats too. Something rather large (likely coyote) bit her from behind. Her back leg was torn open all the way to her butt. There was also a dark red gouge 1/2 way down the middle of her back. Still to this day my wife thinks it was another cat- now way it was definitely way bigger. I sure hope your kitty is doing ok and she adjusts to being a tripod. Please keep us posted!!!
