Who’s riding for fun today? Took the short way home….:anonymous: Temp rose quick after a cool morning! :bananadead: Also, saw a group of those reverse tricycle car things. What are those? And why? :notsure:

My wife and I are planning on going to do the waterfall route on Rte 64 in NC in a few weeks, approximately 400 miles one way. We don't want to take highway the whole time. So I'm planning on mapping out a route.

My question is, is there a motorcycle navigation app that allows you to choose the route and filter for no highway? It's that or either look at a map, type it up and laminate it to follow.

I’m sure plenty of others will chime in. But just the maps app on your phone will allow you to toggle on and off highways and toll roads.

13 miles of twisty canyon roads to get to the view point. 5k feet at the house to 8530. Stuck behind an RV on the way up, but had an open lane on the way down!

Is it suggested to get tubes when putting new tires on?

Is saving $20 worth potentially crashing?

Are your wheels not tubeless? I guess I just assumed being a newer bike it would be. Use new tubes and keep the old as trail spares is my vote. Vacuum them down in a gallon ziplock bag with some talc powder to keep em small, fresh, and easy to slide in if needed.

I like and use Rever. You can plot courses online and pull them up on your phone. They have options for avoiding highways and such, too.

No sir. Only the Adventure Sport model has tubeless unless I convert or get different wheels.

I will order some new tubes then.

    Front tire size is 90/90-21
    Rear tire is 150/70-18

    Ahhh gotcha.

So I say to order new tubes, but I also know that my tubes have been through 3 sets of rears and 2 fronts :anonymous: If I'm going a long distance or heavy off road I'll carry spare tubes and a bead breaker though.

You can also look into sealing your spokes as a tube backup. Both my rims have been "sealed" with basically some marine sealant goop on top of the backside of the spokes, then covered by a real thick pliable tape kinda stuff. I have enough faith in that that if shit should really hit a fan it'll at least leak slow enough that I can limp home after a quick hit with the compressor.

I did. 1084 miles in 16 hours of riding. I missed the New Mexico sign unfortunately and there wasn’t a turn around close enough for me to want to go back for it. No windscreen makes for a messy jacket and helmet too.

    None... yet.
Convert! Then I can see how well it goes for you and decide what to do with mine when the current tires wear down! lol

Would like to try this but seems like a lot of guys who try this end up with consistent, if usually minor, air leaks. Any issues that you've noticed since making the switch? And having a bead locking tire on a non-bead locking rim seems like tempting fate...

Its $2300+ for just wheels. OEM is more.

Tires are coming, so that's definitely happening
