    Grandmothers . . . How they have changed! I remember one born in 1886!

    I remember discovering some old golf clubs in the coal cellar in our neighbors basement. We spent the afternoon driving chunks of coal against the wall with a wooden driver.

    Later, my German great-grandmother took one look at the ring in her bathtub, and looked at me and said, “If a little black boy washed that much off he’d be white.”

    Anyone who is offended by that has to remember that this was a woman born just after the Civil War.

    Everybody was much different 60+ years ago and a 78 yo woman in 1964 was from another world.

    I tried I just did not have the movement to make it work The Girls were much better and fun to watch.

    No matter what you say, you will offend someone. Anyone remember Mort Sahl, a comedian in the 1950's and early 1960's? He used to close his routines with, "Is there any group in here that I have not offended"?
