Hey all! I'm currently looking at upgrading the suspension on my 2014 TRD Sport. I believe it currently has a Procomp 3" lift (bought the truck used last year so I'm not positive, but googling part numbers makes me think it's a procomp 3").

I would like to upgrade to the FOX 2.0 series with coil overs in the front and rear, non-reservior all around. My main concern is will the FOX 2.0 series work with my current setup if the truck is supposedly lifted 3" and the FOX max out at 2"? If the answer is no, would the FOX 2.5 series work, or does FOX make another model that would?

I have also considered the ICON 2.5 stage 1 suspension kit, non-reservoir, since it lists its ride height from 0-3.5 on 2nd gens.

I am on a relatively small budget, hoping to be around $1,800 and may end up doing the installation myself to stay under that. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

The “amount of lift” that a suspension kit offers will vary per company but is really limited by the suspension geometry the truck itself has. Even with a 2.5” shock, I typically don’t recommend going with 3” of lift as ride quality will suffer. If you have a UCA that allows a bit more travel you can achieve a bit closer to 3” but it’s still a stretch.

You’d really want to look at the ext/collapsed lengths of the 2.0” shocks to know for sure.

Thank you! My concern is if I have a 3" lift do I need to match that height or would I be ok if the new ride height was an inch or so lower?

I think you may be confusing the number on the lift kits. The Icon 2.5 is a 2.5" diameter shock body, not the amount of lift.

I have 2.5" of lift and 35's, granted I have trimmed fenders and more, so your question about dropping an inch should be a non-issue.

Im not too familiar with the Pro Comp lifts but in general, no. It’s a mainly a preference thing.

Fox has an extended 2.0 shock. I have a 4 inch lift with Fox 2.0 shocks.

Check out this guy's YouTube channel, alot of great info and actual testing to back up his claims.

Depending on how hard you wheel, you could get the fox 2.0 and add a top plate spacer.

I'm at work now but I'll post some photos later today. I know the first measurement is the width of the shock and then it lists the lift height.

From what I've seen the FOX 2.0 series front coilovers go 0-2" of lift and less on the gen 3s and the FOX 2.5 series has higher lifts from 0-3" in the 2.5 coilovers. I have seen the FOX 2.0 rear 4-6" lift shocks before, but what do you have in the front? FOX 2.0 coilovers? Do you have a spacer?

I have a drop bracket lift with a 4 inch spacer in the front. Fox 2.0 replacement shocks and used the factory coils in front.

I just did the exact install you are thinking about.(FOX-433-985-02-002 fronts & FOX-980-24-670 rears) Except I went from stock OR suspension to the FOX 2.0. I am running TRD PRO rims on 275/70/R17 Toyo tires.
Prior to upgrading I was getting some wheel rub in the front with strut compression and the wheel articulated on street driving.
Post upgrade I gained a little under 1.5" in the front(Wheel rub went away). The rear annoyingly lost ~ .25". So now my rear is lower than the front and I notice a tiny bit of wheel rub in the rear at mild compression. I can't imagine what it will be like once I have my RTT and all my gear loaded. Needless to say I will have to address the rear issue but couldn't be happier with the front suspension.
I'll add some pictures later. At first glance the fronts shouldn't be a problem depending on what size tires you are running.

Great to hear about the fronts! Sorry about the rear, that's partly been my concern and I might end up going with the rear reservoirs since they offer a 2-3" lift option or pairing the FOX fronts with a different brand for rear shocks.
