Sadly the door is at the bottom of my list. Next is getting everything related to the drivetrain, exhaust, steering, etc fixed up like new. Only the muffler is really concerning me right now, but I'm not a certified mechanic, so I there could be things I'm just not noticing yet.

I added the weatherstripping to the door jams recently too and it completely eliminated the highway hiss

Adding lock boxes to the bed. Only had enough weatherstripping laying around for the first one. Added thin rubber door threshold weatherstripping between the plastic & metal, and thick window weatherstripping between the door and frame. Seems solid, no rattling, and a nice place to toss stuff.

I'll update on the outcome. If it works, it was a 3 minute mod that can work into anyone's schedule. I read a thread that this was the technique used by a toyota master mechanic to eliminate the noise over replacing the gasket.

I did this a while back and it completely eliminated it, until recently. Now it has become my morning companion every day during my commute. This attempt sandwiches flexible tubing in the crease between the 2 flaps :)spy::devil:) on the existing door seal.

Fixed my airbag light with this harness setup rigged to a resistor.

so stoked it cleared the light, with no SRS reader required.

Not sure if you know this or not but those are not sliders, they are decorations. You’ll be sad if you try to use them as sliders.

:rimshot: Love the pun! Doing building and grounds maintenance at home and elsewhere, caulk is often expedient and effective. Everything is temporary... but it can last a long time! :)

Hey y'all, first post from a new member, lurker for many years.
This weekend I swapped the old stock shocks from my base preunner with some takeoffs from a 2019 trd o/r I got on ebay. Cost was about $300 shipped.
The rears were pretty easy except getting the old ones out. The nut on top is pretty snug, but there is a little square post on top of the shock to hold so you can get the nut off with a wrench. This post broke immediately on both shocks. I saw a guy on YouTube grab the upper portion of the shock under the mount with some visegrips to hold it in place, so I tried that. Of course all my visegrips we're too fat to fit. To avoid having to put everything back on the truck mid task, I rode my bike to home Depot and got some needle nose visegrips ( https://www.homedepot.com/p/Milwauk...Pliers-with-Durable-Grip-48-22-3409/205017705 ). These fit perfect and the rest of reassembly went smoothly.
The fronts took a bit more work as the upper control arm and sway bar(?) must be moved out of the way and some parts require a mallet and/or prybar to persuade into the right position. The only hiccup on the fronts was that I tried to do one at a time. The sway bar(?) must be detached from the upper control arm on both sides in order to move out of the way.
Big thanks to the several posts and replies on this topic, as always very helpful to me trying to upgrade my truck to a TRD one part at a time.
Ps the shocks I bought are the stock trd Bilstein units, yellow and blue. They didn't come with hardware so I did spend a while figuring out which nuts I needed to mount. The 3 nuts on each front shock top are interchangeable with the Bilstein but the rear stock but did not fit. I bought a pack of 4 m10x1.25 nuts at O'Reilly's that snugged them right up, hope that saves someone else time if they do this same swap.

Congrats on accomplishing the job. I want to do this swap soon myself to get more level up front. I was going with the Off Roads too but have read in recent posts here that the 3rd gen Sport coils and struts give a similar boost up front. Now just looking for the best killer deal to pop up on CL or FB. Had hood struts for 6 months and will install in 2 weeks after I get my hood repainted. Not sure if the body shop will remove the hood to paint it so figured I would just wait. Had hood struts on my 3rd gen for 4 years and loved not working around the hood support rod.

Got my Bora spacers installed with brand new studs today. When I had my new wheels installed a few weeks back, we learned that 3 of the 4 wheel spacers had at least one bent stud on each spacer.

Ordered 24 replacement studs from Bora and got them installed.

So, talk about weird. The rear passenger side door didn't work with the remote or the door button. All other doors work just fine. It would lock with the remote and door button but it wouldn't unlock with either.

Tried it with the key and it worked. Let it sit and tried a few more times. Now it works with the remote and the door button. It will lock and unlock as usual.

Maybe something needed to be reset? I'm going to keep an eye on it.
