    Story Time With Gritto


    I saw a few bar fights in my younger days, and got bounced a couple times...
    ... because I was with a group that got a little too boisterous.
    But I was directly involved in a bar fight exactly once.

    It was not too long after I got out of college.
    I was with a new girlfriend who invited me to her company's New Years eve party.
    It was held in a big night club and open bar (what could go wrong with that, huh?).

    Well, it wasn't midnight yet, but we and everyone else there were absolutely hammered.
    (Looking back, I have to wonder how they all got home in one piece.)

    Anyway, I'm in the Men's Room taking a leak and minding my own business when a guy I don't know starts talking shit to me.
    You guessed it...an ex boyfriend of the gal I was with.
    I zip up and turn to face him.
    He swings at me...and misses.
    I knock him down.

    That sobered me up substantially. :eek:

    I go back to our table and say it's time to leave.
    She, rather startled, asks why.
    I say, because when your ex boyfriend gathers his wits there's gonna be trouble.
    You can come with me now or stay here.
    We left.
