Gave it a quickie bath today...yesterday, I got the new to me OEM hard tonneau put on and removed the front air dam. Even though the bed cover didn't have all the screws or the front alignment piece, the big bonus was the guy threw in a precut set of bedrail caps so I still have my uncut caps if I ever want to go back for some reason.

Thanks! I’ll post some more pics once I get the Ko2s installed. Ended up going with 32s 265 75/r16. Was going to go with 285s but they would have rubbed the upper control arms on the stock rims (no offset).

What exactly is that kit? I’ve heard about the fumoto valve but not too install it without some skid plate to protect it

The funnel was on Amazon and it comes with an adapter for Gen2 non-threaded as well. The valve I got from Fumoto's website.

I think I'll alternate so on like middle mileage checks where there's only the basic check ups, I'll do them myself because it'll be cheaper by $100 at minimum. Then on big mileage check ups where a bunch of stuff needs to be done, including brakes and all that, I'll just have the shop down the street do it all to save time or something. Or maybe I'll always do the oil because $140 is so damn high vs. $30 (and I have an extra 7 quarts laying around now) and then I'll just have the shop do the hard stuff, lol. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Yah! And for some reason all the little punch out parts made it feel like an Advent calendar (minus the booze and chocolate)

Nice job with the sound deadening. I did the same this weekend but you did a much better job.

How do you like the goose gear? Couldn't get myself to pull the trigger so just putting in a plywood platform for now.

The kit is basically a fancy filter wrench, drain hose, and funnel.

I bought the wrench as a standalone, it's a nice one.

It's true about the valve. I installed it and immediately realized how vulnerable it is to the possiblity of kicked up road debris. It's a strong piece of metal, but it's one that I don't want to impact-test. So, TRD skid bought. It's only money I guess. :spending:

It's called MotivX oil change kit designed for our Toyotas. It includes the filter canister wrench, filter drain tool, and a two piece screw on funnel. Really a nice box of goodies that I picked up on Amazon. There are some youtube videos you can check out as well.

I do have RCI skid plates to protect the Fumoto valve.

Yeah that’s what I gathered from the videos. I think I’d like to get the aluminum cbi skid set down the road. Saving for a lift setup now

Current gf gave me a heads up on someone selling an alleged new OEM muffler tip for a Taco on FB Marketplace. First thought was it had to be some punk who probably jacked it but when meeting the kid he had the thing all wrapped up in its original box. OK seems to check out fine so ended up being not a bad $30 purchase, and I gotta say it looks better than expected. Now I'm obligated to do something nice reciprocal later on…
