find a lcal private guy to weld. reason my labor was only a grand.

 

My labor was "free" unless I pro-rate for how much my own time is worth to me.

The only thing is I usually don't show strangers my exhaust work. It was the first thing I ever welded so I'll leave you to imagine what it's like.

I just made this one. Was my first time building an exhaust. Not pretty but I only have a MIG and as Tor said, it works. No leaks! Now show us yours!

 

I just worked on it today, adjusting the orientation. Was hanging down pretty low before.

I looked through all my photos and it looks like I didn't save the pictures of when I was working on it initially. Lol. I will have to jack it up and take a couple of pictures for you.

I've started to practice welding. Practice would be the best way to describe it.

 

We all start at square one. practice makes the difference.

My welder doesn’t have a weld time setting. I actually welded with a metronome to get it even

 

I just chopped off the control arm frame mounts on my JK project. New high clearance mount is mocked up with a few bolts, but now I gotta weld it...gonna be the first thing I've ever welded...trying to get someone with experience over here tho!

 

Practice on some same thickness scrap first. Thick metal is pretty easy cuz you can put heat into it without having to worry about burning thru. If you weld near the bushing you might cook it tho. I use a garden hose to cool bushings when I do can mount chops

 

@hx989 has opinion with reason. he's assisting an engine build for me. his advice is good info.

Yup, I was told it's the biggest pain in the ass to complete and pays onky a 1/4 of the time that it takes. Basically adding in a complete new harness with a relay from the AC control inside the cab to the in-cab fuse box driver side kick panel, engine fuse box and then to the new fan. All that for the new fan to cycle on/off with the compressor.....

 

this is true, just takes time.

I'll pay you 1/3 for mine.

 

So the A/C fuse method is easier. Lol.

 

Anyone know if a stock 5.7 tundra fuel pump would be a upgrade for a sc 4.0 Tacoma ?
