What's a "dh ebike"? I used to schmob those Wildcat trails on my hardtail, there's some super fun single track/cow trails in there. Best part is that if you blew a corner you could just ride off down the hillside, worst part was the juicy cow patties.

Yea that's certainly a long legged machine you've got. That's the best part about ebikes though, theyll take you nearly anywhere you could want to go. Keep exploring there's many more trails in those hills, mostly undocumented. ;)

I used to ride Wildcat Canyon dirt on my Schwinn 10 speed when I was a kid. Start in Tilden (we’ll actually at my house a mile from Tilden) and ride all the way to The Arlington in El Cerrito, and back. Who says you can’t ride XC on a steel 10 speed with a one-piece forged steel crank … and steel rims. Today was a pretty wet day for riding - at least for the Bay Area in June.

When i was a kid i would ride my dads high serria from the little farm to inspiration point down to Alvarado then back. Would be dead after. Now i can take the ebike from my house down by the cemetery to tilden then do the same loop, then hit the quarry on my way home

Back in the day (I’m old, I’m talking 50 years ago) people rode dirt bikes (Hodaka’s, Honda’s, the occasional BSA or Bultaco) into Wildcat from Alvarado; even then it was illegal there but most folks looked the other way. In fact EBay Regional Parks had a motorcycle park off Redwood Rd east of Oakland. Times have changed. But I guess it’s come full circle; now the equivalent is an eBike. Quieter, cleaner, better exercise.

Tiagra is a standalone groupset. The shift intervals won't integrate to the derailleur. Sorry to bear bad news.

Figured this out when I was trying to swap in my old XT derailleur on the gravel bike to get a hybrid drivetrain. The GRX400 is compatible, FWIW.

Got the new bike delivered this weekend - unfortunately the rear derailleur came bent (along with the hanger), so working with Fezzari to get it replaced, but more than happy with the build quality on the Delano Peak. Aiming to get out in the next couple of days to see how it behaves on the trails.

Congrats! That’s one heck of a ride and accomplishment. I was watching some video of past rides…damn! Hope you enjoyed it and everything leading up to!

Seeing a few of you post pics of dad/daughter trips is pretty cool! My 21yo daughter bought her first bike this weekend, something she can ride where ever. She lives in Durango so plenty of riding options, although she probably won’t be on the trails anytime soon being so new to it.

But, I’m excited for her to be able to ride and of having the chance to ride with her.

And….she did get a bit of teasing about the reflectors being left on for her first ride this weekend :)

Nice! Had to break in the "new" bike. Took it to Elk Shit, figured might as well go all in. Going to try and get Moose House and Moose Poop tomorrow, hopefully. Steep and Deep!
    BTW: How was Insurgent?
Can't wait for that lift to start spinning!

Dude. go ride insurgent right the f* now. It's probably the best conditions I've ever seen on it. The usual dust is non existent and the dirt is actually kinda tacky. Won't stay that way for long!

Moose house and poop are awesome. too bad there's no easy pedal out of poop. but yeah, I'm getting a PCMR pass as soon as they open. 200 bucks is definitely worth the long lift hours and the fact there's like never anybody biking PCMR.

Nice, maybe I'll hit that instead of the Moose.
Yeah, $200 and easy access to all the trails and a Crest->Canyons loop (one of my favorite rides) is a great deal. I think they start spinning in 2 weeks.

I have a road bike with 2x10 105. I switched to flat bars and used Tiagra 2x10 shifters. It works fine in that direction.

We rode Mojave to Red Bull Saturday and I've never seen Red Bull in better condition.
