Two weeks from today we'll pull into the area. Decided to stop participating in the housing market. Close to 1/2 MIL for a house that's just 'yeah...it's okay' wasn't working for my brain. We'll rent for awhile and see what's what.

If it's not one thing, it is another - I hate moving.

 

Yea, for that kind of money you really should be more than happy with what you’re looking at.
I did read that VA loans are being reviewed to be more competitive with this housing market… whatever that ends up being…

Yeah, we're in the queue with housing office for any place that comes open that is not an apartment-type place; not looking to have folks living above or below us.

 

Ugh those sliders are tempting but I'm really not a fan of the way they look at the back tire, something about that 1/2 inch of tube sticking out the end... Still, assuming they are bolt on it's exactly what I need...

Also came back to add, took the family kayak fishing this weekend, sooo much easier putting the kayaks in the truck than the putting two ocean kayak tandems on the roof of my civic. Lol

Alright MD, so I noticed some stuff on my front struts that appears to be early stages of leaking. For those of you who are familiar with, especially my 3rd gen 4R guys, Sonoran Steel, I’ve got the Classic 1.2 system. So Billies in the front and rear (5100’s) Tundra springs up front, FZJ-80 springs in the rear.

I’d like to start thinking about what moves I should be making in terms of replacing the fronts. Ideally I’d like to keep my tundra springs and just pop them on another strut. Should I go with a replacement set of 5100’s or are there better options out there? I want something that will provide me with a quality daily driving experience, but also something that’s fully capable of taking me beyond where the road meets the dirt/sand/etc.

I’ve only ever replaced my suspension once, which was back in 2014 when I bought the SS 1.2 setup. It has 101K miles on the entire system. Any and all feedback is truly appreciated.

 

I remember seeing that pic, or a similar one in the past and that's what I was expecting when I pulled my junk apart. I was surprised to see that the T4R rotors were the same diameter, just skinny like the ones in your pic. It made me triple check the Tundra part numbers (again) to be sure that I didn't screw up somewhere.

 

It's a bummer that you couldn't find something to buy but maybe it will work out better this way, you really need to see and "feel" all of the different areas that are available, you may find something that no one else mentioned.

When I got my 'runner in 2017 it had pretty new front struts and ratty cruddy rear ones. The fronts turned out to be KYB Monomax so I got matching rears. They have been really decent shocks, no leaks or any other issues. Good firm road ride, they seem to work well on the dirt trails and the rocky terrain in Colorado.

 

Well, at least they had a pool.

It always helps me to work harder when I know for real how the other half lives.
