New member here...was wondering if anyone can help me out with a DRL problem. They stopped working about 2 weeks ago. All of the fuses are good and they are turned when you go to the settings on the menu. Does anyone have any suggestions? It is a 2020 Offroad with the LED DRL's and headlights and of course just hit 38,000 so the warranty is up. Thanks

Are you by chance checking while the parking brake is engaged?

Pardon my ignorance, which harness are you referring to?

Since it's both headlight DRL's, I'd verify the relay. It's ground activated, meaning the fused battery power goes to one coil pin and source pin on relay, then the other pin of coil (ground) goes to cab (ECU) and the other pin to the DRL (left & right). Fuse is always "hot", so be careful.

    1 & 3 from hot fuse.
    5 to DRL's.
    2 to cab ECU.

I checked the relay and swapped it with the horn relay and still no dice....guess I will get the dealer to check it out when I get my next oil change.

I know you said everything else works, just making sure “everything else” includes the parking lamp, which is the dimmer version of the DRL? If so, then I would guess your ECU is not operating the DRL relay when it’s supposed to be.

Do you have a multimeter?, Disconnect the feed to the headlights (DRL) and verify juice and connector, position #1.

Don’t sell yourself short being just out of warranty. It is possible, based on your purchase and service history with Toyota and the dealerships that repair may be goodwilled. It’s happened to me 2x. Once with Toyota for a 4wd actuator $550 down to N/C, and once with Mercedes who dropped their repair bill from $3400 to $600.

If you are what they consider a ‘good customer’ and use them for services other than free oil changes, it may work out. The dealership and Corporate does have discretion when things are close if its worth it to them.

How can I get to the LED board to check it? I've got a multi meter on the way.

Verify the power to it first, pin #1 from the vehicle harness.
