    Haha, fair.

Would you mind either posting a close up picture of the mounting? or PM it to me? Very curious if I can swap to that...

Custom, only one ever designed and built interiors, heavily welded frame, all sharp metal turned bed rack and a roof top I made for $75. Power pedal, injen intake system, cat delete, summit racing brake proportioning valve controlled on the fly, slightly adjusted or perhaps unrecognizable ECM, built in under bed storage, high clearance rear built with 1/4" on a 6011 1/8" rod at 120 amps, 360 degrees of led light, a PA and CB, on board air, on board propane (to cook food), on board fridge made from an old red bull fridge found on some guys man cave built into the storage cubby under the back seat, imported tranny and clutch from a good friend over in Europe to replace this aisin junk we get, combined 32 gallons fuel capacity, 18 5 gallons of water storage, built in gun locker under RTT, and all it cost was to hear the wife ramble on about upset neighbors at 2 in the morning every night since I bought that damn truck..
So every once in a while, I decide to go off the deep end and do something crazy with my tacoma. Just kidding it's always insane with that poor guinea pig. The main project is my new Kleinn 150db train horn! And my cummins, sad to say, has enough turbos and I felt terrible leaving one on the shelf to gather dust, so the little 4bt cummins turbo from Mitsubishi is finding a home under the hood. I've already started the pipes..

Sounds like a dream trip! I really hope you really get to enjoy it! I’ve thought about a similar trip but with gas prices what they have been and a crazy schedule at the moment it hasn’t been realistic!

question: does the TRD alum skid plate need to be removed to change oil filter and drain oil?

No, you don't have to remove them. The drain and filter housing are both located on the engine skid. There's a hole cut out to reach the drain and an access plate that comes off with 2 allen screws to reach the oil filter.

That being said, I removed my engine skid (left transmission/cat guard installed) when I did the oil change. I thought I had the correct allen wrench, but they are metric and I only had standard. Next time I will have the correct allen wrench and leave skid in place while I perform oil change.

EDIT...I see you asked about TRD skid. Disregard.

Another reason I got the TRD front skid plate. I think other brands have this capability too…

Sure hope there's no little people around whilst the pistol is randomly laid out on the table.

Stock wheels and suspension. Random "utilitarian" mods featured on this great forum.
Painted rear drums with RO high heat engine enamel (500 deg no-bake paint) before they got super rusty crusty. Unfortunately, only color available was gloss black which is not ideal but hey, they came out pretty nice. Textured look is from the shitty paint can not spraying right 1/2 way through the job but don't really care as long as it holds up.

Looks great with the 35's. I bet it was a lot of work to get them to fit. Are you located in AZ? Looks like Bulldog Canyon in the pictures?

Thank you!! I hear the price of gas south of the border is around $5/gallon? We pay in Liter at $1.91/Lt IF my math is right that's $7/gallon...? We are hesitant about the trip cause the price of gas but it's cheaper down there than up here.... And, well, CREDIT LOL

Thanks! Time for an actual product like this on the market?? LOL For those with toppers that have windows on the sides that open with screens this makes 0 sense.. otherwise i'm pleased with the outcome. Little tip, I used a multi tool with the circled multi material blade. NOT a dremel tool. Super clean and straight cut. The composite bed is HARD. Also, I got these at Home Depot cause they had black plastic.
