I am very happy to report that my mechanic fixed the cruise control this morning, and would like to thank everyone for their help. I don't know if I mentioned this before, but I purchased a new OEM cruise control switch from the dealership in December of 2020 or so, and ended up not using it; On a hunch, my mechanic swapped out the switches and the now the cruise control is working flawlessly! It would appear that the switch was defective from the start, as it started giving me trouble within a month of installation.

 

The cruise control is fixed, John!

 

That's great news.

 

And now, I'm not gonna have to worry about fatigue on the drive to Syracuse next month!

This Chevy is rarer than any Camaro, at least in America; I saw it at the car show in Bernardsville as well...

When this thing arrived at the car show, I at first thought it was a 1987-1993 Fox Body Mustang until I saw the Chevy bowtie symbol between the headlights...

 

Yup! It's a 1992 Chevy Opala, with a 4.1L inline-6 (try getting that to pass smog in California) and a 5-speed manual transmission; Even though this bodystyle was in production virtually unchanged from like 1968 until the early 1990s, it was marketed as a luxury car. For some reason, it does not have cruise control, but it is very well-equipped and even has A/C vents for the rear seat passengers!

The gauge cluster is in kilometers, but this translates to just under 76K miles...

 

Needs an iPod hookup!
