How long did you have to wait for your factory 2022 order/request/whatever it is called?

I’ve been driving a 2001 TRD Off Road since 2003, and it has been a legendary truck, an absolute beast. But, it’s time. After much deliberation, I put a deposit down on a Lunar Rock TRD OR MT Premium package on Saturday 6/4.
This will be my first new Tacoma, and basically my dream truck. Excited is an understatement, I’ve barely been able to sleep!
My dealer said to expect a 2-3 month wait, but I gotta say after reading through this thread the wind has been taken out of my sails just a bit. It looks like 5-6 months is the more realistic timeframe for a manual with the premium package, correct? It’ll be worth the wait no doubt, but the anticipation is already killing me!

Mark Miller. They had a long line because they don't add "market adjustment" markups. Plus I wanted a Pro with a manual. They told me it would take a long time when I put down the deposit. Fortunately, I'm not in a hurry.

 

cool, I was going to go with Karl Malone with a $2k markup but went thru Costco Auto who works with Tony Devino in Riverdale so I’m getting $500 under msrp. Got allocation and build quick, now it’s just been stuck at the port for almost two months. Hopefully yours ships much quicker

 

I tried to go through costco auto and the website says "Sorry there no dealers taking part of the costco auto program for the vehicle you are looking for"

 

Allocation finally accepted! Deposit placed 11/17/21 and finally allocated on 6/3/22. 2022 Army Green 4WD DCSB Off-Road hopefully coming by the end of July.

 

Congratulations on the decision to purchase a new Tacoma. I had a brand new 1992 extra cab 4X4 Toyota truck that like you loved and was legendary with my wife and I. Sold it 14 years later. Last time I was ever in a Toyota truck. When I purchased my 3rd gen in 2020 I did not even take it out for a test drive. Bought it over the phone sight unseen. All based on my experience with my 1992. Curious, did you test drive a 3rd gen?

 

weird, maybes it’s cause it’s the pro? I am getting a manual sport, but I also didn’t build a vehicle out on the Costco site and just got their general Toyota dealership partner.

Ive put in an order mid March for a super white TRD OF 6MT with tech package and still didnt get an update. I was told June or July but now September earliest.

@Rod03 my status went back to A on VSPEC after already being on F status for some time. I also had updates in my app, but then they went away and reverted back. I find this very odd. Am I over-worrying? I owe you so many beers man, thank you and apologies for my neurosis!

I did, several times. My friend has a 2020 TRD OR that I have driven a few times as well.
I’ve been in the market for a while but kept putting it off, partly because my 01 TRD OR still runs strong and there’s some emotional attachment there.
And since I waited so long to purchase a new one, I now get to wait even longer ha!

 

The truck is at the Lazaro Cardenas port in MX, waiting for Vessel pick up as of 06/02.

 

I asked my dealer to look up the status and the info they sent me says it was to be built on 5/27 but is labeled as still in production any idea why that would be?

Still showing in Newark, it does not have a hold.

 

Spoke to my dealer for my weekly Tuesday update. Mine arrived in Newark port on 5/31 but was put on a 35 day QC hold on 5/23. Mentioned it to him and said he expects it on the lot any day now but could still take another two weeks. Said he has been getting trucks delivered and to not make much about the 35 day hold thing. Probably just the backlog and their inability to provide an accurate eta gets them tagged as a hold.
