My dad is 91, and surely remembers them.

He remembers that each state had their own pavement marking system. Hell, my oldest cousins do, too.
In some states, white lines were used to separate traffic going in opposite directions on a two-lane road... and it was not uncommon to see white dashed line separating two-way traffic on curved roads. Just watch the opening scene(s) of "It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World". California was one such state.

I guess my typed sarcasm didn't translate too well...

I see Yield signs all the time, but they're red on white..

We had that in my high school (late 200x), but like every friggin Thursday in the spring. Recruiters had to gather up the next gaggle of ASVAB waivers to fill the GWOT ranks :oldglory:

"asvab waivers" in a loving and respectful sense

If you can work this and get decimals and don’t need electricity to do the math.

I lived on a lot of Air Force bases so days like Armed Forces day was a given.

I wanna post some other things here that my grandparents used to say and my parents used to say but I’m afraid people will be offended.

I’m not afraid for me. I’m afraid for them. Lots of people are one breath away from total insanity.

Remember when traffic lines in the middle of the road were white before they changed to yellow in the 50s

When I was in Germany, many intersections actually had yield signs instead of stop signs. Mostly for suburban and side streets. Driver's there actually pay attention to the signs. Kept traffic moving smoothly.

In my area, I don't think anyone even has a clue what yield means. And stop signs are basically a cue to tap the brakes then punch it to be first through the intersection.

I loved cruising the Autobahn @150 mph (240ish kph) in a BMW 5 Series and having some exotic Porsche or something of the like blow your doors off. Good times. :)

I had a little Renault Captur. I don't think I had that car above 90mph. Wasn't sure if the car could handle more than that. I actually enjoyed cruising the back roads in Austria more.

In my younger days here, I had my Trans Am going about 160mph on I-495. Two old guys in an AMG SL55 laughed at me as they flew by me.

At least it wasn't a Cadillac, and you weren't driving a Hot Rod Lincoln....

My buddy and I did 235 km/h in a 5-series on the AutoBahn in Bavaria.. I was more impressed that I didn't feel a thing while we were moving that fast.

I also had the privilege of getting a shit-box rental up to 205 km/h on the Stuart Highway in the NT before limits were imposed back in '06... Doing 160 km/h was easy... but going much faster was a challenge and tiring.

I only remember seeing one yellow stop sign in my life and it was very old and rusty.

It was way out in the desert, as a relic from some ghost town, and it has three round red bicycle reflectors across it. It was also much smaller than modern stop signs. Early cars didn’t go fast enough to need big stop signs.

so have you seen an outdoor rock concert of any type in Utah?

I saw Alice Cooper at the Bonneville Raceway Park, and it was so loud they banned all outdoor concerts in the state.

I don’t know if they ever rescinded that.

I do remember seeing Jethro Tull and Yes and the Electric Light Orchestra, all at the Salt Palace.

Ian Anderson came out on stage in some day-glow electric cod piece outfit that he blamed on David Bowie having left it in the dressing room.

Nah, there's plenty of outdoor venues these days, but I could imagine that "old school" Utah may not have been so accommodating.

The stories about when Limp Bizkit RATM came to the sleepy town of Spanish Fork to perform at the rodeo grounds are pretty hysterical too.

I went to college in Logan and I remember if you wanted hard liquor you had to go to a state liquor store.

Otherwise you could get beer and wine anywhere except on Sundays.
