Ibuprofen before you leave out at the start and every 4-6 hours as you go and soreness is greatly minimized. Take a minute and stretch at every stop too. It gets easier as you learn the little tricks. Windscreen makes a huge difference though.

The paved road going up is twisty and fun enough for me. Of course 2-up on a FJR1300 I'm not taking the same route you do anyway! Great view from up there. Really cool if there are folks hang gliding when you're there.

Yes sir, it will be my second Saddle Sore 1k.

Ibuprofen was definitely my friend on the ride. I might need some engine crash bars to mount highway pegs on so I can stretch my knees while riding. The new seat, lowered pegs and bar risers made a huge difference over last time but at about the 700 mile point my knees just didn’t enjoy it anymore. Walking around would help but about 30 minutes after being back on the bike they started hurting again.

I've done 4 Saddle Sore rides and the Pressed Penny Challenge so far. Currently working on the Lighthouse Challenge and want to do the National Parks tour. Considering an instate Saddlesore in PA and there are a few other specialty rides that interest me. The Ice Cream Saddlesore is right up my alley. Sadly enough I'm leaving out Friday morning to ride from PA to Atlanta,GA for a celebration of life on Saturday and then returning home Sunday. Those 2 rides are looking like Bun Burner Gold pace each way but too many hours apart to count for anything.

So funny story on that.. I didn't know they were sealed until I did my own change, saw the tape and sealant and went "huh, no shit". The first two changes I did with the bike I took them into a shop. The bike had tubes on when I got it, so I'm still running tubes on it. It seems like a fairly popular mod over on ADVRider though.

I think how well it works really depends on your prep work. There's so many tiny holes to seal and not doing one screws the pooch on the whole thing. My rim also has the bumps to lock the bead, IIRC.

Any 2022+ Grom owners have any regrets/gripes/complaints so far?

May be a round two possible on grabbing a couple for the wife and I on Wednesday.

They have a blue ABS (hers) and a yellow one marked as ABS but it’s not (mine) up for sale for MSRP and no one has put a deposit down yet. We shall see…

Any of you have experience with the Aprilia Shiver 900? I found a decent deal on one, but I can’t find a lot of info on them

    1) a good vendor throws in some stickers with every order
    2) a good vendor keeps a few items on hand in stock, in effort to trap those who run at the sight of 4-8 week lead time

I adjusted the seat height from the low position to the higher position. Now Im not sitting in the bike. Feels much better, though wind is hitting me more.

Rode the CRF300L today. Aaaaalmost bought it just to throw SM wheels/tires on it…

Still wondering if I should have walked away.

Was underwhelmed by the power but have never had a more fully featured dual sport for sure. ABS, fuel level, gear indicator, inverted forks, etc. all good stuff! Worth a ride if anyone is in the market :)

Seeing your post reminds me of a couple in my neighborhood I call "Scooter Squad" I saw again over the weekend. His and hers matching groms, Tommy Bahama hawaiian shirts, and keen sandals ripping down the street to the neighbors for happy hour. What a sight!

I’m afraid the Chief has ruined my idea of a bike with “enough” power.

Need something “fun” to make up for no oomph these days. SM/DS/mini
