I keyed in on the same thing. They were comparing apples and oranges...should have been a Tundra with a cooler compared to one without. They were using a scan gauge and believe it was the pan tem. I also thought it was incredible the "lead engineer" said the trans and fluid were designed to operate up to 250°, yet every bit of information I could find on WS fluid said up to 221°. IMO they were running too hot. I also find it asinine the trans temp warning doesn't come on until pan temp is 302°...I'm just gonna work a couple OT shifts and throw on the Setrab and never have to worry about it again.

I noticed in the install he says to remove the pin once you have bled the system and adjusted fluid level. What scenario do you run it pinned for?

I plan on running it pinned in the summer when temps are higher. I also ran it pinned last time I towed about a month ago just to see the difference in temps. It got up to around 150° in 10-15 minutes and just sloooooowly crept up from there. Took 8-9 hours to creep up to 185 and I noticed it cooled off faster after large spikes.

If you let the thermostat do it’s thing it’ll open up around 190 and then slowly creep up from there. That’s when my pan temp crept up to 205.

If you were going to invest in a gauge, would you go scan or ultra?

I ended up going scangauge in the tundra because I think it looks a bit nicer. Have you seen where I mounted mine?

Randy, some Carvana questions for you. So they bring the car to you. Is there a time limit for checking it out? Does dude just wait? If you don't want the car after checking it out, are there fees or something? And lastly, if you do want it, are you doing the remaining papers on the spot? I think that's it.

No time limit for an on site inspection that I’m aware of. The dude just waits as you check it out and take it on a test drive. Once you decide you want it, you still have 7 days/400 miles to change your mind and can wipe your hands clean with no fees. Yes paperwork on the spot.

Cool. Thanks. Trying to find a commuter that isn't a 2001 Silverado.

Before I go clicking around everywhere. Randy you’re running 500lb 16” coils? Couldn’t remember the length.

I swear. I finally get the weight right, but not the length. It’s cursed…because I can’t be this dumb. I just can’t.

Yeah I just ordered some. I adjusted my dual rate sliders to engage the stiffer coil sooner in the rear and push some more work to the front and that helped, but the front still needs to flex more easily. Hopefully this will do it
