    Just 3 tons of fun!!!

A bunch of the 4x4 In Motion guys and gals were talking about that section when we were up there clearing NRT this weekend.

I definately could be wrong about the actuals, but I know there is a new(er) section, that sounded diferent/harder than the old section.

I know @nDub knows a lot more of those details on that than I do. He's been through there.

you'll want to run south to north. The reroute section at the north end was pretty rutted out and pretty difficult. @Fernando tried to climb it and almost made it but it wasn't pretty. I've gone down it once, but that was when it first opened and wasn't rutted out.

I think for your first time, best to run south to north, get to the reroute obstacle, turn around, make camp, and then wheel back to the south end on day 2. This way, you can try check out the reroute and decide if you want to try it. Would suck to go north to south just to discover its too difficult to go down the reroute which is basically at the start of the trail and then have to drive back down 4 to the south end.

    but im in. Lets Go!

I feel like they should do periodic enforcement, especially the more popular spots. Just to let people know they're watching.

The truck needs to earn more flags.

Sucks, cause I was in 25 States last year. But, the truck didn't earn any, cause I was in a rental car.

fwiw, that section has gotten easier I think. The rocks at the bottom are a bit more filled in. I ran it solo last time going up and made it up no problem. Albeit not the hard line at the very top with the squeeze between the rocks. Didn't wanna cave in any doors. Just go the bypass to the left of that part.

ooh nice. i may wanna try it this time. When I went down when it first opened, i took that same bypass. I imagine the bypass isn't bad but that lower section + the hard left (when going up) to get to the bypass was the part i was most worried about. Guess we gotta try it before it gets rutted out at the end of the season.

yea, that turn is the hardest part of the whole thing imo. if you have a long DCLB with a buncha weight up high I'd imagine it would be even more fun ;)

How many days is a good amount of days to do Rubicon?

To do the actual trail. I can tack a travel day on to the beginning and the end.
