2022 NorCal Wheeling, Camping, and Fuckery Thread

So, I should probably count for being on the trail for 3 days... lol (33 inch tire life)

Most likely I'll be running 35s by then though. (Anyone interested in a set of 5 moderately used 285/70R17 Duratracs?) lol

 

most people do it in two because they like the stay at the springs for a night. I been threw it in a day on a quad

 

3 is a chill length to do it and still enjoy the scenery

 

I'm running Slick Rock on the 16th of this month, would love to run it again with a group. Also trying to find some others to hit the Rubicon with, been a handful of times as a passenger, but this will be first time in my rig.

 

I would be down maybe if your ok with a jeep rubicon following you threw.. lolz

 

Nothin wrong with Jeeps! Just always loved Toyota's. I've only ever been through the rubicon in jeeps.

 

I got this 04 last winter and have wanted to take it threw, just finally think I can find some time

 

Been building mine for 2 years, I have an irrotational phobia of being the one to cause a traffic jam on the trail ahahaha. So I wanted to be damn sure that I **SHOULD** be solid.

 

lol.. I been there back in 98 I didnt think I needed longer break lines well. guess what happened. I had to leave it there for a day until I could get it fix. I was young and dumb

 

I have the same phobia. I don't like being the one that hold shit up.

But this is my year of the fuck it's.

Fuck it, if I get in the way, fuck it if I break something... Only way I'm going to know if it'll make it through is to send it. Most of the time, I've found, that as long as you have the right attitude and you're actually trying... MOST people are pretty understanding and helpful, in this community (offroad).

If they want to be an asshole... well... "fuck it" (I can promise you I can make this take a LOT longer if someone wants to be a dick)

I also thought about running it with the Auburn Jeep club.. they got the trail from like 7-8/7-10

Definitely would love to hit the con. I would already be out, but the one friend I know with a built rig had a little to much road soda and sent his driveshaft into his oil pan, his shock, and his tire…..

 

In a Jeep I might add… Boulders + Skinny Pedal.

Just doing it last week. It’s really nice if you can swing a mid week trip. We had the whole trail to ourselves. We were able to take our time and record some good videos. We did Wednesday to Friday, About 5 hours of wheeling a day. The trail is daunting especially your first time through. Also recommend you bring some spare parts. I folded an inner and outer tie rod and @betterbuckleup broke a CV. Plenty of good lines for 33s. I will say the crawl box made a huge difference ( compared to the first time I did it last year). Also I’d look at the rubicon trail foundation calender. There are lots of events in July and august you may want to try and avoid.
