That small? Havent seen or heard of one that small. Would probably have to be custom.

 

My neighbor with a GFC has 2 awnings. One in back and one on the passenger side. I believe both are CVT. Would that be an option for you?

 

I've posted it before, this is the one I'm going to run off the back. It's not a 55", but a 60" 180 with available walls. Will work perfect to cover our dual swingout bumper which is our sink/kitchen.

Hey All,

We joined the SP family on 5/23. Install at their new location was quick and efficient. Took the camper along the Oregon coast and eventually back to Denver area. Happy with the performance so far and we're looking forward to doing some tinkering. Had a simple lithium battery system bolted to the drivers front corner of the bed and they were able to install the camper without having to remove, for anyone who is thinking of building something prior to install.

A question for the group, how are people getting their electrical cables into the cable raceways in the channel? I know we have the black plates that can be removed in the lower corners, but that would still require cutting a hole in that plate, curious if there are other options. One thought I had was drilling a hole up into the underside of the corner, seems as though there is the same aluminum plate material on the underside and would probably be easy to drill through.

Finally got a chance to do some real wheeling with the camper and new setup. I've ran this trail (local Az "difficult" rating crawler trail, called Elvis) years ago back on 33s with a much lighter and simpler truck. I ended up candystriping my driveshaft on a shelf climb along with some other slight damage on that run. This go around, I was the smallest truck in the group (2 buggies on 40"+ stickies and a SASd Grand Cherokee on 35s) but my truck had changed quite a bit since the first run as well. This time I was on 35's, bumpers, full skids, plus the added weight and roll with the camper especially, it did even better.There are a couple tight squeeze sections where I was curious if the added roll would put the X1 into a rock wall.. but it stayed pretty planted and besides the weight.. felt and worked great. It was "The House" on the trail while everyone else had Buggies and Crawlers. Lol. It surprised me and I am very pleased with it all. This was my biggest concern going into the X1.. how it would handle or change how the truck and myself wheel. I feel confident it can handle what I'll throw at it now.

Back in like 2014.. for reference.. although the trial changed drastically in the 8 years in-between.



And Saturday night 2022. didn't get shit for pics. Too busy wheeling and having fun.

I'd like to know this also. Have seen a few pictures of cables spanning a hole in the rear bed side panel up to a hole in the lower corner plate. Would add a waterproof connector along the line in case there's a need to pigtail or remove the top. Thinking a small fuse block would also be good but where to put it so its unobtrusive.

Anybody have some pics of their bed to X1 wiring?
Are there any ready-made kits avail?

The 400 watt inverter mod so ypu can use it while driving will be awesome for charging the batteries too.

 

Are you talking about the 3rd break light wiring? @Puppypunter can get you squared away. As far as routing going, some people drill the corner underneath the tail light/top of the bedcaps.

I used rubber grommets and did it slightly different.

Might need the Deets on that.. that's the biggest problem with camping here in Az. We get about 3 months of "camping season".. the rest is stupid hot.. and it's hours to get into elevation to just get a 15-20 degree break.. that doesn't do much when it's 120..

 

Here's my 3rd brake light wire run. Drilled a hole in the X1 panel.. Used a grommet.. Ran it under the bed cap. Used heat shrink to tidy it up somewhat.

 

Ah... I saw the tubes and such and thought it was a C-Pap machine

Also interested in the Deets on the portable AC. SoCal (inland) summer temps are almost on par w/ AZ.

 

Then there's this. EcoFLOW Wave 4000 BTU portable air conditioner. They make portable power that seems to surpass the competition. I had already gotten a GoalZero Yeti but I would have preferred one of their power solutions. FWIW.
