It would depend on their condition. If it’s something I’m gonna have spend a lot of time removing old adhesive, then I wouldn’t want the hassle. It peels right off and only leaves minimum residue then I would certainly add some 3m double sided tape.

Oh no I was just saying cause you would return it if there was no adhesive. $10 is a good deal. I ordered mines for $50 but had a $50 gift card.

no issues with scratches or scuffs. I like them better than my old weathertechs.

You and me brother! I got the same issue right now. Just ordered a set from weathertech and try to install it on my 2020 and it pinches hard near the top and the window does not want to shut properly. Maybe I am not installing it right or the window thickness increased for the 2020 models to help with noise.

I am going to try again to install and let it "sit" for a few days and see how it goes.

That's wild - put Weather Tech in mine last February right after I got my truck and haven't had any issues with them at all.

Found this thread when trying to decide on AVS vs Weathertech myself. @cop414 and @Scott17818 What did you guys end up going with and how has it worked out?

Thanks, looks good. I’m leaning AVS. Are these the smoke or the matte black?

They’re smoked regular. I ordered both low profile and the regular and sent the low profile ones back. The low profile sit so tight against the window that you aren’t able to get your hand up in there to wash or dry that portion of the window.

I would avoid the in-channel weathertech.
Had them on my last tacoma and the rear ones didn't stay in very well with the windows down. Lost one going down the highway one time, but luckily it blew back into the truck.
Now I have the standard tape-on AVS and prefer them. No more window grinding on plastic.
If I was buying in-channel, I'd go with AVS.

I had the same problem with Weathertech’s on my wife’s Mazda, lost one of the rears, to their credit though Weathertech sent me a replacement pair. Also the Weathertech’s are thicker causing the window motor to work noticeably harder when going up.

I have AVS and the quality is good and they work as they should. Only issue I have, and it doesn't matter which brand, is that they make the pillar blind spot bigger. Mine are smoked color. But maybe I am the only one that has this issue. :)

I've had the AVS in channel, no issues whatsoever for almost 2 years. Here's a tip when installing: when you close the window after sticking them to the inside of the window seal, wedge a little bit of cardboard between the visor and window and leave it for at least a couple of days. You can drive with it, just don't roll the window down. This ensures that the adhesive sticks firmly to the seal, and the window seal somewhat molds to allow for the extra thickness. Assuming your windows predominantly stay closed, the window glass won't catch at all on the shade. I've had zero issues with mine. No catching, no loose shades. Just seems like you have to really have it apply pressure in the early stages

Close to 5 years on my AVS visors. Absolutely zero issues.

Those with adhesive issues probably aren’t following instructions properly… I have had in-channel vent shades (AVS and other) on ~20 vehicles never with a problem.
