Sometime it says there are roads when there 100% aren’t public roads but that’s part of the adventure.

I have to say, it's a real hoot to scoot around the drives and yard. But my knees get in the way for slow speed turns where the bars need to turn. ;-)

 

Havent ordered tubes yet. Rear comes tomorrow

 

The only part on my bike that is that blue color is the tank. But they make graphics to cover that. But tbh that color has grown on me.

 

Toenail fungus can grow on you too but it doesn't make you like it.....

 

What’s the general consensus on used BMW motorcycles?

I’m waiting on a 22 Grand America, but there’s now a 2018 near me with 13K miles supposedly in very good condition.

Is that the low version? I gotta get one, I was destroyed after 2 days on the stock cheese grater. It's funny you guys talk about 1000 miles in one day but doing 100 miles in 1 day was 7 hours of riding. Easily the most fun I have had on two wheels in my life. Two memories were my favorite, one was following a guy on a steep downhill who was airing his bike out over the drainage bumps, and another was coming to the start of one hero section that was dropping in straight down 50 ft into a gorge.



I broke my headlight and the entire left side is now held on by a series of zip ties.

 

yea the low comfort from seat concepts, so far i will agree with the hype that it is like sitting on a couch when riding on pavement
I have not been off road with it yet in any shape or form

Totally different kind of riding for sure. I would not want to do 1000 miles on any of my offroad oriented bikes but on a street bike it isn't bad. Offroad days for me usually involve 100-200 miles of pavement and then 100-200 miles of offroad but not single track dirt bike style riding.

 

You hear a lot of mixed reports on the BMWs. I’d look for some cold hard stats over opinions. It seems they’re either highly problematic and an expensive pain to fix … or ultra reliable and the same cost as anything else … depending on who you ask. I have a feeling there’s some HD “feelings” in there with all those experiences.

I'm not familiar with that exact model but like @BuzzardsGottaEat said you'll hear mixed reports. There are a lot of BMW riders doing serious long distance rides and one of my friends is leaving in about a week to ride from VA to AK and on to the Arctic Circle. I've also got friends on them who are on the second or even third final drive after catastrophic failures. The only thing I would say without hesitation is to be sure and get any extended warranty possible as repair costs on them are higher than average. Best of luck!
