Happy hump day CT. These last two weeks feel like they are going to drag by.

Vacuumed my carpet yesterday. I need to pick up some carpet cleaner and other detail stuff.
I also need to stop eating in my truck.

Can't get the dirt off of the lower parts of the doors and fenders so I'm going at it a little more aggressively on Saturday. I already have the degreaser but I need to pick up a stiff brush.
It's on the rock guard so the texture is making it a little more difficult.

Doing a PDI on a 2022 Frontier. What kinda crap is this? Looks like junk aftermarket rails.

 

Goop Hand Cleaner works well to get stuff off auto paint.
With brushes, the bristle color relates to firmness. You don't want to go firmer than a white bristle on your painted surface. They go white, blue, red - red the firmest. But... not every brush maker sticks to the rules. Not sure where the yellow falls in that, I think between blue & red, maybe.

 

When I was on lunch I went to the dollar store and bought a small brush (blue bristles on the outside and white in the middle). It felt soft enough not to cause damage to the paint.

I used that and All Clean from Chemical Guys https://www.chemicalguys.com/allclean-degreaser/CLD_101_04.html?gtmListValue=Internal Search
It took the dirt/road tar off with no effort. Now that I got the heavy contamination off the paint I can do a proper detail. I'll be wearing my boonie this time so I don't burn my head again.

Can anybody send me a link to a good paint chip repair video on YouTube? Preferably with no music.
I watched one some time ago and the process, while long (three days), made the chip disappear and it also showed how to buff the area to get the shine back after the wet sanding.
The paint chips on my truck aren't excessive but they are there and only a couple have rust in them which would need to be dealt with. My truck is super white "040" if it matters.

Ordered something on rockauto.com and didn’t see the shipping until the order was approved. I immediately canceled it. Buying it from Toyota is about the same.
